Happy Monday, Friends! Thanks for coming by today! How was you weekend? The weather was lovely here. So Pat and Orla went down to the Cape house to do yard clean up and a couple of other things. Well, Pat does yard clean up...Orla plays with some of the local kids around. So that left me, Declan and Maeve at home. I was totally out numbered. Declan is big enough to climb over the baby gate. Maeve is just a tin one, but smart enough to get a chair and call out for Declan to help her over. And he does. They are like partners in crime! Then he usually just goes upstairs to his room (because I have my bedroom and the bathroom locked) and gets his blanket off his bed to bring down...However, Maeve is a hunter. She looks for things like Easter Baskets with candy in them that were put out of her reach and starts stuffing her face with chocolate covered marshmallow bunnies, while Declan (who does not eat food) sits by and giggles. Then I notice how quietly it suddenly got and find them...shoo them out and the whole story repeats. Funny? Are you getting a kick out of this? Because this happens over and over again! all Saturday...all Sunday! I am about gone bananas! LOL! It is spring break week for the schools this week....boy, it's going to be a loooooooong week! :P
Today's card was made for Mary Jo's Monday Sketch Challenge. Hop on over there to see the original sketch and to participate! Last week I received some stamps from Magnolia-licious! This image was one of the stamps. I call her Naughty Tilda. She makes me laugh. Why? Why does Kerry refer to this sweet little girl as naughty?! A few months back, a fellow group member, Deborah (who just gave birth to her 7th child!!), did a series of cards using this Tilda....but in all the cards she was being very mischievious! Climbing on dressers...torturing cats....they made me laugh and I've always thought of this Tilda as "naughty Tilda" since. Here's a link to get your own naughty Tilda....maybe you can teach her some manners! LOL! Remember that you get FREE SHIPPING (in USA and Canada) and extra goodies (worldwide!) when you order from Magnolia-licious! In fact, the white ric rac was one of the surprises in my order!
So after reading through the comments from Friday about more info on my cards, I have been thinking about it. I am not into fancy-schmancy techniques or anything...so I am not quite sure what info you would like. I just color my images and start sticking stuff on there. Usually, new supplies will dictate the embellishments of my cards. LOL! For example if I get a new punch, you will suddenly see a bunch of cards in a row that use that punch. heehee....sometimes it was something that I saw on someone elses blog that I "borrow" and tweak to meet my needs. Sometimes I try things that don't turn out quite as I had imagined. Today's card is one of those. I wanted to make a "frame" for Tilda to sit in. However, because I put a circle behind the frame...it doesn't really look any different that if I layered the plain circle inside the scallop circle. Anyhooooo, I took a couple of different pics to show you what I meant. ;)
In the pic below I am showing that I cut out the center circle first. Whether you use nestabilities or Punches (especially if you use punches!) cutting out the center first makes it easier to make sure that it is centered properly. Otherwise, you will likely end up with the center not in the center....clear as mud? LOL! I used repositionable tape to make sure the scalloped circle stayed exactly where I wanted it while I ran it through my Cuttlebug.
Below shows the frame before I used "pop dots" to adhere it to my card.

And "rapturous"? You're starting to sound like Bill O'Reilly! WAIT! That's it! How about a "word of the day" contest!!!!! There are some really weird words just in the word verifications on Blogger! LOL.

Your card is gorgeous. I just love the color combo. Also loved the story of your 2 little ones. All too soon they will be grown and those will just be precious memories.
Great card, and some of my FAVORITE DP. I love the frame look. I did it last week with my digi shack image, and then decided it wouldn't have looked that much different had I put he circle on top. Oh well. Great card. You're a pure inspiration!
Funny about your kids Kerry! Beautiful card, great opening for Tilda to sit.

YOur posts make me smile. Amazing how kids can be so helpful to each other when they want to be, huh?
Very cute card! Love the whole naughty story.. fun!!
Your card is super cute. You can double up on pop dots as well to give it more lift. However, I love it just the way it is. Adorable!
Fabulous card! Love the way you cut out that large circle and your colors are so springy--awesome!! :)
LOL...sounds like you had a really Looong weekend!! (although it IS kinda funny! at least Maeve didn't get out the block of cheese, put it directly in the middle of the kitchen floor, get out a butter knife and start into it, smearing the whole block of cheese into my lanoleum!! Grrrr :) Are kids so precious??! LOL

I'm loving what you've created lately with all those adorable Magnolia stamps....and this one is fabulous as well, even if she is a bit mischevious!! Thanks for sharing the frame idea.....GREAT card!
Love your card AND story Ü
Beautiful card and thanks for the instructions. I know I'm being a bit thick, but how did you attach the Tilda? - did you stick her legs down and then mount the rest on dimensionals?
This is super-duper cute. I love how Tilda is sitting on the edge of the circle!
Naughty Tilda is so, so cute. I love the colour combo and of course the ric rac...lol

Kerry,
This is a lovely card. Love the color combination. Gorgeously done.
GB, Mima
I definitely noticedthe frame she is sitting in and it definitely is better than typical layered circles! If you want thicker foam dots, just double up on the ones you have! You can still adjust this card if you want, just separate your layers, the dots will probably rip but the new dots will stick everything back together.
These colors are fabulous together Kerry! They even remind me of the Cape in the Spring! You are the Queen of Copics! Your coloring with these markers is just so amazing, and you learned so quickly! :D
