Good Morning! Good Morning! It's a Happy Day today! :)

Declan loves his VHS tapes. ALWAYS has. Barney (blech! do you know how many years of Barney I have been listening to?!) , Blues Clues, & Disney Sing Alongs are the favorites. Sometimes he likes full length movies like Disney-Pixar movies (Toy Story and such), or even some of the old Muppets movies (like The Great Muppet Caper) or he even likes Annie at times. (Annie is the easiest on my ears) With all of them he goes in cycles. He may only be interested in Blues Clues for 2 months. Then not touch a Blues movie for 6 months or more. Sometimes it is one particular Blues Clues...sometimes it just might be Blue in general. It gets really irritating though when he focuses on the same line over and over. "Blue Skidooed...so can you...."(Declan giggles and rewinds)..."Blue Skidooed...so can you...."(Declan giggles and rewinds)... "Blue Skidooed...so can you...."(Declan giggles and rewinds)..."Blue Skidooed...so can you...."(Declan giggles and rewinds)...
This is why he prefers his VHS tapes over DVD's. So that he can have this control. DVD's usually go back a whole scene. As you can imagine, some tapes fall victim to the constant rewinding. Many a VCR have come and gone. And now we can't even buy them...I am not looking forward to the day that we come to the bottom of the VCR stash because Declan will not be happy. Actually, I think we are on our last VCR. (we collect them from anyone who doesn't want theirs anymore.) I, however, will be glad to say good bye to many of those incredibly annoying videos. Why am I sharing this with you? Not sure, really! LOL! oh yeah....because today I started off this blog entry with my little "good morning" song. I have started off entries like this several times, then deleted it realizing that you would have no idea that this is from one of Declan's videos and ingrained in my head. And that just because it says "It's a happy day today" doesn't mean anything special...it just is the little song. But what started out as a joke of me singing this silly song, has now become a habit. LOL. Am I making any sense? [For those of you that have not read my previous entries about Declan: Declan has Down Syndrome and Autism. (yep-it is officially Autism now...no longer the PDD-NOS) Declan turned 12 last November.]

Anyhoooooooo-onto the card. Have I mentioned how much I love this Tilda holding her puppy?! You can get it at the KL Stampin N Scrappin store for 10% off every day! ;) I made this card about a week ago. It was my original card for this weeks challenge here on Three Clovers Designs. Yep, this is more of that "old" paper from that "stack" that I got at Michaels several years ago. So where's your card?! As of the time I am typing this post (Sunday night) there are only six (6!!!) participants. Wow...I guess there aren't that many of us with oodles of paper that we bought years ago. I guess the rest of you use up your paper as soon as you buy it. Good for you!

I have no inside of the card to show you for this one...I badly cut my finger while making this card, so I haven't gotten around to doing the inside yet.
Have a Delightful Monday!

Spring Things!

Stamps: Spring Things Gingersnaps by CC Designs; sentiment by SU! Paper: Making Memories; Groovy Guava; Blue-ish cs unknown Ink: Memento Black; Copics other: pom pom for bunny tail; Hero Arts pearls; Groovy Guava ribbon; CB swirl embossing folder; nesties Card Measures 5.5 sq

Welcome! Happy Hump Day!

Now, I don't want to brag (said jokingly)...but it will be in the high 50's here today. That's right, read it and weep. LOL! Here in Massachusetts that screams SPRING. Sure, in Florida it screams BRRRRRRRRRRR......but here, in March, that's flip flop weather! LOL! Have I mentioned that March is a particularly hard month here? (Maybe once or twice...) We so badly need and want spring...but usually winter isn't done with us yet. Tomorrow won't be as warm, then we will be back in the 40's. But today: high 50's and sunshine! I better start looking for my bikini. (YIKES! Me in a bikini: that's a scary thought!) LMBO!

So yesterday I received a package from Kelly. The lovely & talented owner of the Kl SNS store...inside was this adorable stamp set from CC Designs' Gingersnaps line called Spring Things. Perfect timing! How CUTE is this set?!! This is my first set by CC Designs...and me likey! They come already on EZ mount and in a cute little CD tin. (perfect for altering)

Kristen had bought me this pad of Making Memories paper and I couldn't wait to use it...but I didn't have any Copics that coordinated. :( So I layered colors to acheive colors as close as I could with the Copics that I do have. So her shirt was achieved by layering R20 and Y21. Her pants by layering BG10 and G20. I used E53 and E0000 for the bunny.
I used the paper that I thought I would not likely use on the front of the card to polish off the inside of the card. (shown to the right)

I have to run...Maeve is hanging all over me just screaming and it makes it difficult to try and post a cheery little blog post! LOL! Aaaaahhh....age 2 is so much fun! Like with the month of March it is hard, in between a baby and a "kid"...They are so cute and funny when they are 2 years old. They learn so much. But they are independent in too many ways and cranky! LOL!

Have a Sunshiney Day!!

House Mouse Challenge #29

Stamps: House Mouse
Ink: Colored with Copics: No pic-sorry
Paper: Sage Shadow; Almost Amethyst; unknown pink; Making Memories DP's
Other: Nesties; MM brads; CB embossing folders
; Stardust Stickles

Happy Monday!
This week the KL Stampin N Scrappin store is sponsoring the challenge at House Mouse Challenge blog. So the KLSNS design team was invited to participate in this weeks challenge.

The first challenge was that I do not own any House Mouse stamps. Thankfully, several of my fellow DT girls have plenty and sent me oodles of images. And Pia sent me images. But in the end I used an image that Kristen had in her stash.

This weeks HM challenge was to use this brilliant sketch. It was fun! That circle thing is not something that I would normally add on my own...but I was pleased with the final outcome.

I do have to admit that there is a reason that I don't own any HM stamps...they give me the heebie jeebies! Those tails and feet and teeth....shiver! Don't get me wrong, I like what others do with HM stamps. But I don't think that you will see oodles of HM cards on my blog. Sorry! heeheeheehee. Of course I do have a bunch of images now, so maybe you will! LOL!

Don't forget that today is the last day to take a guess at how many kisses are in the jar and win my blog candy!

Have a Merry Monday!

Happy Thursday!
I decided to start putting my 3CT cards in a separate posts so that I could share the "ingredients" with you...and any other tidbits I had.
For example, if you look at the recipe above this Tilda is called 'Tilda with Hearts'...so where are the hearts you might ask?! Well I like to make my Tilda's earn their keep...and that means that an image designed for Christmas might be used on a wedding card...and a Valentine's image might be used on a birthday card! Originally I had colored the hearts green, pink and yellow. It was cute just that way. But out of the corner of my eye I saw my flower soft and before I knew it I was smearing glue over those hearts and throwing some Flower Soft on there! So now it looks like Miss Tilda was out picking a bunch of flowers for your birthday! I wanted this card geared towards a younger girl (child), so I thought it would be fun to use the Numbers Collage embossing folder on the pink squares. If I had a specific girl in mind I would have place the card stock in the folder so that the appropriate age was visible when I placed it on my card. This is a FUN embossing folder! Great for birthdays!!
Good News!!!! you can get your embossing folder and Tilda with Hearts stamp at Kelly's store!! She is wonderful to do business with. And offers fabtastic prices...did you know she offers 10% off Magnolia stamps EVERY DAY! I know that I sound like a commercial...but seriously, Kelly is just like you and I and wants to offer the best prices that she can on all the goods you want. And GOOD SERVICE.

So what do you think of this weeks 3CT challenge? Are you up for it?! I'll bet you will all come up with great cards! Have fun and don't forget to share your creation with the rest of us!

Have a Fantastical Thurday!

Declan's Valentines

Stamps: Pink Cat Studio
Paper: Basic Grey's Bittersweet; Rose Red; Papertrey White
In
k: Memento Black; Rose Red; Basic Gray; Copics
Other: MS scalloped heart punch; Nestabilities; 5/8th white grosgrain; Basic Grey's Bittersweet Brads;
Dazzling Diamonds glitter from SU!
Card Measures 4.25 x 5.5

Both cards shown today I made to be given from Declan. One to his teacher and one to the paraprofessional (teacher's aide) in the classroom. I truly appreciate the work these ladies do. They are truly loving and wonderful. I always have said that I take good care of my Declan (and put up with him! lol!) because he is my son and I love him. But the teachers that go in and work with children like Declan every day, year after year are angels. It is not easy. Especially in a classroom such as Declan's that is referred to as "intensive special needs". Anyhow, I do try to take advantage of opportunities to let them know that they are appreciated. So I made these cards to send in with little goodies for them.

I am also trying to use paper that is not neccessarily my favorite. Yep, I am talking about that again. I tend to prefer paper with stripes or swirls. Paper with fun colors. Particularly pinks, greens... Not brown and gray. And quite honestly I am not good at making cards that aren't girly girly. Yes, it's true...I wore a dress and knee socks every day until I was 10. I hated gym class. And loved Barbies. And Cabbage Patch Kids. And Strawberry Shortcake.
OOOOOPS! I so easily get sidetracked. It takes me so long to type up these posts because I go off on tangents...realize it and delete....so although a post may not seem long...it took me 45 minutes to type delete....type...delete....repeat. LOL! But for today I am leaving my excessive babble....just to give you a glimpse into the mind of a fruitcake with markers! :)
See there...another tangent! So anyhow, what I am getting to is I don't really like that brown leafy paper. But I am trying to be better at using at least most of the paper in these pads. not just half. I have even been using the pieces that do not have a pattern on them The scallopped rectangle around Billy is some. So are the hearts. I find with these detailed punches that it is really hard to punch through cardstock. But it punches through this paper fine.

Details for Card 2:
Stamps: Pink Cat Studio; sentiment from Memory Box
Paper: Basic Grey Two Scoops; So Saffron; Pink Pirouette; Papertrey White
Ink: Memento Black; Copics; So Saffron
Other: MS Scalloped heart border punch; Blue flower by Fancy Pants Designs; pink button; embroidery floss. Dazzling Diamonds glitter from SU!
Card Measures 4.25 x 5.5

Guess what? More Blog Candy to tell you about!! The talented Kristine is offering some yummy Birthday Blog Candy! So check it out HERE.

Mojo....Friday? And a few questions

Hello! Happy Friday!! This week I am participating in my first Mojo Monday Sketch. Julee has lots of wonderful sketches over there! I love sketches...they are such a great starting point for card makers. I often struggle with layouts. I often have an idea in my head of some of the elements I want to use on a card...(Usually something new I bought! lol!)...but getting that stuff actually on the card is sometimes hard. With a sketch I have a guideline...but feel like I also have "creative liscense" to add or change something to fit the idea in my head. That said, I stuck pretty close to the sketch provided for this card. The paper was rather busy that I didn't need to add anything more to add interest.

I wanted to remind everyone who has not entered yet that Kelly is giving away BLOG CANDY over at the KL SNS store blog! You can still enter until tomorrow night!!

On another note, I am *thinking* about starting my own challenge here. Last week I had asked what challenges you like to participate in because the day before I had made that origami box from participating in SCS challenge and was so happy I did give it a try. But many of you took it to mean that I was going to start a challenge of my own. I had not intended to....but all your replies got me thinking. The most of you said you enjoy sketch challenges. But let's face it, there are alot of sketch challenges out there already. (just off the top of my head I can think of 3 great sources for sketches Technostamper, SCS, and Mojo Monday. And there must be oodles more) . After sketch challenges there was no close second. Answers ranged from color, inspiration, limited supply, technique...etc...

So, I was thinking about doing a different theme every week. Week one I might have a color challenge...Week 2 we might have a technique that we haven't used in awhile or ever...Week 3 might be a masculine theme....etc... I was thinking that this would keep it interesting...and can help us try something new that we didn't even know we would like, work out of our comfort zone and get us out of a rut. I mean, I know that sometimes (ok...OFTEN) I just get into making everything look the same. Same colors all the time. Same style. Same same same....

What do you think? Would you participate? Would you share a link here for us to all ogle over your lovely creation? Would you be more willing to participate and share your work if every so many challenges there was a prize involved?! Now, I know you people like to win stuff! LOL! Let me know what you think!!

Have a Fantabulous Friday!

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was not bad...I went to Joann's yesterday and spent WAY TOO MUCH MONEY. sssshhhhhhhh....don't tell my DH. I am suppose to be on spending freeze....but remember, I did use that old stuff for Friday's card! LOL!
I made this card last night for my friend, Mary Jo's 55th sketch challenge using some of my new goodies. I don't know if I swayed from the sketch too much. You can view the original sketch and MJ's lovely works over at her TechnoStamper blog. Then when you make your own card using this sketch you can leave a link over there too. So what are you waitng for?

Back to shopping at Joann's....They had DCWV paper stacks on sale. So I picked up an 8x8 Sweet pad! It's all chocolatey and glittery and pink and I love it! I also picked up som WAY cute $1 stamps by Studio G. The BE MINE is from one of the little packs that had like 5-6 sentiments in it for $1!! They had V-day, Easter and St. Pat's ones. I also got the jewelery pins and beads. And a buch of other stuff that I shouldn't have. :P

What?? You are sick of my blah-blah and want to know about the Blog Candy? Well, it's not mine. Kelly is giving away some yummy goodies at the KL Stampin N Scrappin store blog! So head on over and be sure to tell her I sent you! She has also asked 2 more talented ladies to join her design team! Heidi and Sparkle!

I am a cheater. A big ol' cheater. Today's Blogger's Challenge was to make 2 cards. Two cards using the same layout but different stamps...or same stamps different layout or colors...etc... I only made one new card. The card below I had made last month. That's just the way the cookie crumbles for this challenge. :P I am a cheater and I admit it.

Did I go too punch crazy on this Valentines card? I feel like I got a little silly with this card. I just felt the need to use as many of my Valentine "thingys" as I could on it. Almost all my new MS punches sans the little scalloped heart....but I did try to make some of those work on there too! Doilys, flowers, ribbon....Oh My! :) The Copics shown are for the Valentine's card.

OK....so now I have some news that I want to share....Last Tuesday a friend who does design work for Inky Antics, (who shall remain nameless....because I don't want to put her in a position with others of why she didn't pass on their information) emailed me and said that someone from Inky Antics may contact me about doing some design work for them because my friend passed on my info to them. Inky Antics needed projects with new lines they are releasing at CHA. Like in a couple weeks! Well Jackie (founder and Art Director of Inky Antics) Emailed me and asked if I could do some design work for them! I was/am so excited!! I got to use images that they haven't even revealed yet! I am floored that a company wants to use stuff that I make at CHA to showcase their new stuff. And they are compensating me to boot! It has been hard to keep this a secret. I thought I was going to have to keep it until after CHA....but last night I had the pleasure of seeing one of my projects on the Inky Antics Blog! This is one of the projects I made for the Worldly Women collection. I made 6 in all for that collection. I will share the rest here in February. I still have to finish up another collection this weekend. I have been up all hours of the night making projects for IA and trying to keep up with my regular cards. A few times I have gone to bed just as my husband is getting up for work at 4:30 am. I am pooped! But happily so!

So that is my excuse for not having made 2 new cards for this weeks BC. :) Please forgive me for being a cheater! LOL!

I hope that you have a Warm and Sunny Weekend!!

A Valentine Yummy!

Stamps: Tilda is from Magnolia; Cupcake is from Alota.
Paper: Basic Grey Two Scoops
Ink: Memento Black and Copics
Other: Top Note Sizzix Die; Nestabilities; Making Memories Brads; Martha Stewart border punch; Organdy ribbon; liquid applique; CTMH page anchor; self adhesive 1/2 pearls; CB embossing folder; Stardust Stickles

Card Measures 5.5 square

I don't usually post on the weekends....but I did want to let you know that Kelly who owns the KL Stampn N Scappin Store is offering 10% off all the Basic Grey 6x6 pads! This card uses some YUMMY paper from the Two Scoops pad. I Love the Basic Grey 6x6 pads because they scale down the size of the pattern from the 12x12 papers they sell. So the designs are a more appropriate size for card making. Don't forget to preorder some Magnolias of your very own while you are over at Kelly's store! If you like to color...you will love Magnolias!

I don't usually go into long blah blahs describing how I made the card...I guess I assume that you can figure out what I did by looking at the card and the supply list. And if you can't you can email me or leave a question in the comments. Personally, I can't stand reading: "First I made the base out of brown cardstock...then I layered the cherub paper on top of that...then I...." Heeeellllllooooo....I just don't need a step by step tutorial on every card I see! And my card making does not have a nice neat order of 1.2.3...It usually includes pealing thing off and moving things around...changing my mind...ripping stuff up....making boo boos that turn into embellishment opportunities...! LOL! Do you really want a step by step guide to the 2-3 hour process?! Nooo! I am sure that you have more to do in your day. LOL!

But I want to mention how I made the little white corner doily things: I used 2 small scalloped circle nesties and cut them in half. I punched holes into it, then adhered it to the corner...then I cut of the excess. Clear as mud? If not let me know and I will try to take some pics.

Also, sorry about the X's across some of the Copics....I took the pic of the markers to get them out of my way and then I decided to paper piece the bottom of the cupcake. Hence, those 3 colors were part of the card no more.

>>>>>>Check back later this week for some blogaversary candy!<<<<<<<<

Have fun shopping!

Have a superfluous shopping day!

Cool Beans!!!

Does this card look familiar? I posted it back in October. (This little Tilda is colored with Prisma pencils and Gamsol)
So why, Kerry, are you posting this again? Well, Kelly who owns the KL Stampin N Scrappin Store was looking for some cards to display in her store to showcase some of the Tilda's she is selling. In return she was offering a Magnolia stamp. I had only 2 cards made with the stamps she was looking for. So I submitted them. Imagine my surprise when I received an email from her this AM asking me to be on her DT for her shop! I am so honored and flattered! Her store is still new and building up inventory...but has some fun stuff there and on it's way! She has a great goal for her store to offer stuff we want at low prices! Sounds good to me! :) I am super excited to work with Kelly!

Here is the other card that I submitted. I am really going to try in the near future to make a V-day card with all of these sweeties...I can't wait to make Tilda and Edwin in the midst of a v-day smooch!! hee hee!

So head on over to Kelly's Store! Check out her Nesties, CB folders, CC Designs Stamps, Basic Grey paper, Magnolias....

Also Check out the Store DT blog to see who else she asked to be on her Design Team!
