Hello! Thanks for stopping by for the Magnolia-licious Halloween Blog Hop!! If you came from Suzanne's blog: Welcome!! You're on the right path for Halloween Fun!! If you are starting here, you still on the path of fun...but I recommend starting at the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog so that you can get the info on making a set of your own and possibly winning a $10 Gift Certificate to Magnolia-licious!!!! Yeah!!

You can get loads of treat holder instructions at the Scor-Pal projects page. Click HERE for instructions for the one I made. It was SUPER EASY!! I am not joking when I say that it took me only about 5 minutes to make. (Five minutes to make the holder...45 minutes to color the Tilda!! LOL!) Also, I did add a little "topper" to my project. (The black Goo) By cutting a 3"x3" piece of black cardstock and scoring at the 1.5" mark. Then, just folded it over and continued on.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to make projects for!! I love the fun colors of Orange, Black, Green and Purple. I think those colors look so striking together!! But they are purely Halloween. And to me, Halloween is just about FUN and kids. Pumpkins and Costumes! Candy! All in that wonderful season of Autumn. The funny thing is that although I tend to make lots of projects...I hoard them! I don't want some kid tearing apart my candy holder!! LOL! However, I am going to give this set away. I know that a fellow stamper/crafter will appreciate my time and at least take a moment to say "aww...how nice" before ripping it apart for the Peanut Butter Cup and Milky Ways inside!! LOL! >>>To make the background around Tilda on the card I left the Nestie die on the cardstock after it was cut. Using sponges I sponged on some So Saffron (yellow) ink and some Creamy Caramel (beige) ink. Then around just the very edges I sponged on some black. Then I removed the die to reveal the white edges. I didn't cut out a "mask" to protect Tilda from sponging.... I am lazy :) I just used some scrap cs to cover her up and sponge as close as I could. Also, I used last Friday's Friday Sketchers sketch (that's a mouthful!) for my card. They always have such great sketches over there! It's hard not to participate each week.

Hello Friends! Thanks for coming by today. I know my posts have been sparse this week. And my blog surfing has been even less. :( I can't say that I am busy...I think I am just busy doing "not much" and trying to catch a breath from my last 2 weeks. :) I will really try to get around and visit your blogs soon.

This card is another one that was made for 2 challenge: My own 3 Clovers Thursday challenge this week and the May sketch Challenge over at Magnolia-Licious. I like to cut a lot of my Tilda's out. However trying to cut out antennae is too hard! So I just cut them off. But she seemed to be missing something then. She was: Antennae! :) So I needed to find away to add some on there. I don't have any craft wire...well if I do, I couldn't find it. so I had to come up with something else. I got out the stick pins, added sone pearl beads and curved it. I stuck them on in the back using good ol' glue dots. Then to make them a little more secure I made sure to put the pop dots I was using over the pin. Clear as mud? lol!
Just like the fairy from this post, I stamped the image twice, then cut out the image minus the wings and pop dotted it over another image of her wings. In my mind the wings on fairies, bugs, angels should be somewhat transparent, so I always try to color them a very pale shade. For this cutie I chose to use a very pale green (YG11) and a very pale pink (RV10) on the wings' tips. And almost always I cover the wings with Star Dust Stickles. Glitter gives them a magical feel. :)

Guess what? It is after 3 AM here...I have to up in less than 4 hours to get the kids ready for school. I better go to bed now. I hope that you join us for this week's 3 Clover Thursday Challenge!

It is suppose to be a beautiful day here. First time since mid November that we will see 70° or warmer!!! (thanks for the tip Sue!) So what a perfect day for this Hanna Stamps Challenge! This week's challenge was to make a card that has Flowers and Polka Dots. HOW FUN! And what a co-inky dink that I just bought this double sided paper by Imaginsce!
This was one of my first Riley Moose Stamps. I have long enjoyed Riley and his girl, Sophie. It doesn't bother me that they do many of their every day tasks nekkid. :) I mean he is wearing his gardening boots...any clothes would just get all dirty! LOL! It's kind of a joke on the Hanna Stamps Yahoo group about Riley and his preference for being nakey. :) Personally, I like a moose that can feel comfortable in just his boots! heeheehee

I am wondering if you want more info on how I made the specific cards. Personally, I tend not to read blogs where they walk me through a step by step process of their card making. But maybe that's just me. I don't mind sharing more info if that is what people want. Or maybe you'd just like to see one of those little "ask/chat" interactive boxes on my sidebar where you can ask a specific question and I reply. Vote and leave a comment to let me know.

Below is an example of what I mean by a step by step:

For this card I cut a 12"x 6" piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock. I folded that in half for the base. Next I layered a piece of 5.75" by 5.75" of Wild Wasabi CS on top of the base. Then I cut a piece of 5.5"x 5.5" piece of White CS. I ran this through my cuttlebug with the Swiss Dot embossing folder. I had to move the cardstock around several times to achieve the embossed dots on all areas of the cardstock because the embossing folders aren't big enough. I really wish they would make those folders bigger. Then I adhered the embossed white cardstock to the Wild Wasabi piece. Next I cut a 5.25"x2.25" of Chocolate Chip CS. I layered a piece of 5"x2" piece of the Green Flowered DP from Imaginisce on top. Then adhered that to the card. Next, I layered a 2"x4.50" piece of Red and White Polka Dot DP from Imaginisce onto a piece of 4.75" x 2.25" piece of Chocolate Chip CS. I adhered this to the base, slightly overlapping the flowered piece. After coloring in my image with Copic Markers, I used my square Nestabilities to cut out the image. ETC.....ETC....ETC........

Actually, I don't think I could write a step by step by step for every post. Look....I can't even finish this one because I am boring myself! And plus, as I mentioned before, it is not such a standard process. It usually involves a lot of ripping up paper and re cutting and cursing. LOL! However, let me know if you'd like to know a little more than my ingredients, that I usually provide. Or maybe there is something that you'd like to know more about that I can provide on a one time thing. Like how I choose my colors. Or How do I buy my papers.

To be honest, I think its funny that anyone would be interested in how I do anything! LOL! So I guess that's why I don't provide the details. I am still shocked that you all come here to my blog everyday!! So once again, thanks for stopping in today!

Hello Friends! Thanks for coming by my blog today!

I titled today's post "Look Mom, No Hands!" But I should have titled it "Look Mom, No Embellishments!" This is HIGHLY unusual for me. I feel like a card is "incomplete" without an embelli...or two...or three...! But this card had such busy paper and a big image, that I felt like anything else would be too much. So I cut a few little mushrooms out of the DP, stuck them on there and called it done. What do you think...should I have something else? Some Brads? Some Ribbon?

I am happy to say that although it is still cool here (50's) it is suppose to be sunny all week! Yay! no rain! The kids can get out and play! Maybe even ride their bikes. :) If I catch them riding around in a basket like Lily is, though, they are in big trouble!

On another note, I think I will give this card to my Muffin. (lol...my husband) This coming weekend my hubby and I will have been married for 13 years. (can you believe I was just 8 years old when we got married?! heeheehee!) We were introduced, and about an hour later he asked me to go to his brother's wedding with him....in Ireland. (In case you are new around here, my DH (and my mom) are both from Ireland.) The wedding was about 5 weeks away. I said yes. I figured, hey-why not! He seemed harmless. And he was paying! LOL! If something went terribly wrong while I was there, I had my moms family and friends for support. So five weeks later we were off to Ireland. By then, I was head over heels in love. (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaw!) He asked me to marry him while we were there. We planned a wedding for 18 months away. I moved in with Pat. Five months later, on my 21st birthday I found out I was pregnant. April Fools! NOT! oooops. Better move up that wedding! LOL! So we got married on the date we planned to get married one year early. April 18th, by a JP....only my mom and sisters and 2 friends were there. We didn't tell anyone and just figured we would continue with our plans for the following year with the big church wedding and reception...blah blah blah. At the time I had no health insurance...so that is why we did the legal thing...so I and the baby would be covered under DH's insurance, no questions asked. My mom wasn't thrilled that I had gotten pregos prior to being married...but she was supportive. Thank Goodness. However, DH's family....not so much. They were worried about what the neighbors would think! Um, Pat was 31 at the time and had lived on his own in America for 10 years....and they were worried about what the neighbors would think!?! Me being 21 and very American didn't get it. ( I should add that at the time, at least, and Pat's family being very old Irish-Catholics....we couldn't really tell them that we had already gotten "legally" married. That just isn't (or wasn't) done there. There was the church and that was it!) Anyhow we were able to move the whole she-bang up to that June. I was so sick (morning, noon and middle of the night sickness for all 37 weeks!) that my wedding gown (bought prior to finding out I was pregnant), had to be taken in. So at least I didn't look like a blimp. :) And the wedding facility had conveniently finished an addition (new room) early so they were able to accommodate us since they had not started booking that room yet. DH's parents and most of his siblings came over from Ireland for the wedding. His dad was very ill while here. He died several months later. One week before Declan was born. He would not have made it to our wedding if we had waited and gone with the original plans. It was not until he returned to Ireland that he was diagnosed with cancer. But he kept saying how happy he was that he was able to be at Paddy's wedding. Pat and his dad were very close. The siblings (Pat is the oldest of NINE...7 boys, 2 girls) always joked that If Dan (Pat's dad) said the sky was green then Pat would agree and vice versa. So I guess it was all meant to work out the way it did. I am a big believer in God's plan and Fate.
Anyhow, this weekend Pat and I won't celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. LOL! We usually do that in June. But still, technically, we will be married 13 years this week. How time flies! That man can drive me bananas. But I can't imagine not having him. I can't imagine that anyone else would put up with me! We are far from a romantic couple...LOL...But I am interested: How do you celebrate your anniversary?

Well, now that I have shared entirely way too much info, I better go! It's another 2 AM posting here.

Edited to add: Food for thought: Did you know that the divorce rate among marriages with Special Needs children is 80%. 85% with Autism specifically. And I suppose our chances of still being happily married 13 years later after our "whirlwind" start were pretty slim too. In fact, we were told by more than a few priests that they would not marry us because they felt our relationship needed more time. So you know what I want to say to them: Nanananananaaaah! ;)

Good Morning! Good Morning! It's a Happy Day Today!

Hello Neighbor! Are you having a Happy Day today? The day is still young here, so I will have to get back to you on my day. LOL....of course Maeve has already taken the top off her sippy cup and dumped the milk onto my car seat and proceeded to "rub it in". (while waiting at the school bus stop with Orla). I am sure that spilled milk will come back to haunt me on the first hot day this summer. mmmmmmm...won't that be a pretty summer scent!! :P eeewwwww!

For those of you that celebrated Easter yesterday, I hope that it was a lovely day. We had a nice day. My kids are the only kids on my side of the family so they get lots of attention. They also usually provide the entertainment and stories about us that I usually wish they wouldn't share! LOL! Random stuff like "Mommy ate a Snickers bar for breakfast yesterday" or "Daddy has lint in his belly button". Nice. Good thing those kids are so dang CUTE! ;)

This Tilda stamp (and the chicks) are part of the Magnolia Easter Collection. But I don't think chicks have to be for just Easter. I wanted to make just a Springy feeling card. What do you think....just to Easter-y? Tilda's dress is paper pieced. Then I stamped the little bundle of chicks she is carrying, cut them out and pieced them again over the dress. I must admit that one chick was maimed in the creating of this card. :( While cutting the the little pair that are perched on the sentiment, I got a little snip happy and the one on the left lost a leg. YIKES! Please don't turn me in the ASPCA! It was not intentional, and I did try to perform surgery to attach the limb...but it was too late. It was a lost cause. However, I am happy to say that he is hopping about my card on his one leg and doesn't seem to even notice. I hope the receiver of this card doesn't notice either. LOL!

How are you doing today, my friends? Is it sunny where you are? I don't think it's suppose to be sunny here today. :P But again, as long as it isn't snowing: I am good! LOL!

This card was made for TechnoStampers Sketch Challenge #64. I changed it from a rectangle card to a square...in case you are new around here: I like to work with squares. :)

I also made this card to celebrate some more news I have! I have been asked to join the Hanna Stamps Design Team! I had so much fun as a guest designer for Hanna Stamps in January...and now I am super excited to be a permanent DT member! I have known Kristi (HS owner) and Vicki (HS DT coordinator) for several years via Yahoo groups. They are both wonderful, fun, and talented women. I was just so flattered and honored when they asked me to be a guest designer. But when I got the email last week asking me to join them permanently...I was SHOCKED. Seriously. You know when someone is talking to you and you can't believe what they are saying and your hearing gets kind of funny and you feel light headed? That's how I felt. (I had also felt that way when Diana asked me the week before...but felt silly telling you.) I told Vicki that this would be a very mean April Fool's joke! She promised me it wasn't. Then yesterday I saw on that FEEDJIT thingy down there on the right that a few people came to my blog from here. I scrolled down and saw my mug. There it was. Right there with all those KEWL girls! Astonishing!!

Wowzers! How flattering to be asked to join 2 design teams in as many weeks! Unbelievable! Now I am going to share something with you that I have been too embarrassed to share. Do you know how many design team calls I have applied for? Somewhere around 15 or so. Do you know how many asked me to join them? 0. Yes, that's a ZERO. Well, maybe 1 really. When I sent some cards to Kelly it was not really a design team call, she was looking for some cards to display in her store in exchange for a Magnolia stamp. A one time thing. But she ended up forming one and asked me to join her. Thanks Kel!

So why am I telling you this? If getting on a design team is something you have been working towards...Don't Give Up! You never know who is looking at your work and liking it. And just because you are not accepted, don't take it as "rejected". I really tried to take it as "not what they were looking for at the time". :) Also, I think (and this is only my theory) that many companies are looking at those people who join in their company sponsored challenges and forums. So if there is a particular stamp company that you love...make yourself known. Known...not annoying! LOL! ;) That shows them how enthusiastic you truly are about their products and that you just aren't in it to say "I am on a Design Team".

So that's my PSA for this month. heeheeheehee

I had a hard time choosing stamps and paper for this one. I was torn between so many. My "go to" stamps admittedly, are my Tilda's. And having all those new ones didn't make it easy...but this Enchanted Lily stamp set just screams spring to me. :) And cards made with these adorable PCS sets seem to come together so easily. I love this fairy tale line of paper from Imaginisce too. This pinks, blues and greens and all those flowers and glitter also shout out to spring. I know that I have said this before and I know that I am not the only one who this happens to: Noticing something not quite right after completing a card and editing the picture. While posting this and looking at the pic of the card something with the flowers doesn't look "right" to me. I can't place my finger on it. I try to keep "random" embellishments like this in odd numbers. Somewhere that is what I learned. But I feel like that rule didn't really work out this time. Or maybe I just need to move one of the flowers from the top of the circle down. I will have to "fix" that before sending it. What do you think?

Any exciting plans for the weekend? Not for us. It always seems like some weekends we have too many things and others we have nothing going on. Hopefully it will be warm enough for the kids to play outside.

Happy Blogoversary To Me!!


I am so sad that I missed Mary Jo's sketch last week. :(
I did #1 and was so hoping to do #52 to celebrate a year of TechnoStamper sketches! I participated in 40 of the 53 sketches. One week I posted 5 different cards with MJ's sketch of the week! But I just wasn't able to get around to it last week. I was busy with other cards that I had to complete for Inky Antics to bring to CHA next week. I am glad I was able to squeeze in Mary Jo's Sketch this week! You can view the original sketch, MJ's awesome card and links to other players here. Then get stamping and link us up to your creation using Sketch 53!

I know I have said it several times before, but it was because Mary Jo was starting these sketches that I started this blog and became a "born-again" stamper. She was looking for people to be an "inspiration team" for a weekly sketch challenge that she wanted to start on her blog. So I told her I would do it and maybe it would get me started stamping again. Somewhere over the past several years, I had lost my love of stamping. Well I must have found it again, because over the past year I have made 220+ stamped cards/projects!

I doubt that I would have stayed motivated to keep it up if it weren't for all of the wonderful blogging friends that I have made. Knowing that my peers from the stamping world wanted to come and see what I made and leave a kind word means a lot to me. I have a friend that likes to act like the approval of others means nothing to her. HA! she's such a faker! Let's be honest! Who doesn't like a pat on the back?! I don't know about you, but my hubby gives me either a half hearted "great card"...or an over exaggerated "WOW! This is amazing"....(that's what I get for complaining about the half hearted responses!) And my mom thinks every card I make is truly wonderful. Good ol' mom! I have to say that I do get honest opinions from my Orla...sometimes BRUTALLY honest! LOL! However, she is only 7...so I try to keep both the praise and criticism in perspective. Kristen is also good for an honest evaluation. As much as we are very alike, there are some things that we really differ on. We all have different opinions and it is always fun to see the different comments I get on different cards. Sometimes I make a card that I really impressed myself with (LOL!)...but doesn't seem to be such a big hit with others! Talk about putting me in my place! LOL!
Anyhooooooo, I have really enjoyed getting to know you too! There are some people who I never knew of or some that I was somewhat familiar with, but have gotten to know much better by their blogs or the comments they leave or personal emails they have sent. There has been so much that I have learned from so many! It has been a wonderful time!!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrr! Like much of the northern US...it is frigid here!! Even indoors it feels like I just can't shake that chilly feeling! That's ok...as long we don't get any more ice storms I am happy! Boy, do I wish I let my husband put a remote start in my car...I thought it would be a poor use of money...but the last few days it would have been worth it! LOL!

Anyhow, with how cold it actually is outside, it was a nice change from wintery cards to make this springy Lily the Fairy card. Lily the Fairy was a free download from Pink Cat Studio for a contest. You can see the winner's card here. You can see all the cards here. There are lots of cute and fun cards! Pink Cat Studio had such a great response that they are making a whole Lily the Fairy stamp set...I can hardly wait! One thing about digi stamping I discoverd is that you can't use Stickles...it makes the printer ink run. My first Fairy's wings became a black muddied mess! :(

I've missed the last few Blogger's Challenges...but how could I miss a designer paper challenge?! I use designer paper on EVERY card. This is easy peazy! And you didn't think that a whole week would go by without a Tilda card did you?

This card for my sister's birthday. Tricia will be 28 tomorrow. She is still single...does anyone have any cute and rich brothers for my beautiful sister?? heehee....I may as well be picky while I am asking!

My sister Katie's birthday is on Sunday. (I'll post her card Monday). Katie and Tricia were born 1 year apart. Kate was born Jan. 11, 1980 and then Tricia came along January 10th, 1981. They always looked alike. They even both fell (seperately) and damaged their 2 front teeth and they had to be removed when they were very young. They had no front teeth forever! LOL! They were so CUTE. They were 5/6 years younger than I...so they were also a huge PITA to me! Always wanting to do what I was doing...and breaking my Barbie's sunglasses! And no matter what, I was always "old enough to know better"...I think it was just like 3 years ago when my mother decided they were finally "old enough to know better"!! (UGH. I try hard not to say that to Orla when it comes to Maeve.) Tricia was such a goody goody too. Always helping my mom. She liked to clean up! Never arguing with my parents or her sisters. always neutral. She use to cry if Katie and I or my mom and I would argue. She'd cry out: Can't every one just get along?! booohooohooohooo... Not much has changed. *rolling my eyes* :)

When they were younger they were treated like twins. There was always 2 the same of everything. 2 Easter dresses...same style, one pink, one blue. 2 baby dolls...one dressed in blue and one dressed in pink. 2 doll strollers...one pink, one blue. Katie always hated pink and wanted everything in blue. Tricia was always in pink. I still tend to do this for them. They laugh at me...I can't help it! So of course Tricia's card is pink. :)

The pic was taken Easter circa 1984-ish...? Don't you just love the bunny ears?! heeheeheee! Weren't they cute?! (Tricia on the left. Katie on the right.) I am sure my mom appreciates me posting this gorgeous pic of her. How do you like ruffled blouse?! No pics of me in 1984....boy, was I an ugly duckling!! hmmm....seems as though I never really grew out of that stage!

Hey! How was your weekend? Mine was unremarkable. Did a little more Christmas shopping with some friends. Orla went to a birthday party. Cleaned my kitchen. Did laundry. blah...blah...blah...yawn.

The good news is that last week I took my camera to be fixed...and the guy "fixed" it in like 30 seconds. It wasn't the camera, it was the lens...it was jammed...he seemed a little baffled how that happened. I played dumb. But I am pretty sure that it happened when Maeve chucked it on the floor. ooops. At least he didn't charge me. :)
So I photographed this card...but I also figured out how to "fix" my shadowy pics. I was so excited about that! [I don't have photoshop...Maybe I will get it for myself for Christmas. ;)] Anyhow, that was the most exciting part of the weekend for me. Wow...how did my life get so boring?!
I have my 15 year high school reunion next weekend...do you think anyone will be wowed by "huge" photo editing discovery?! LOL! I better start thinking of better stuff to chat about. :)

This was a nice easy sketch from Mary Jo this week. I tend to like sketches that have one big main image spot. And I don't like arrows! (heehee) For awhile MJ was throwing a bunch of sketches with arrows at us. But several of us voiced our displeasure in arrows and she has been kind to us since. Of course, me writing this is just like begging MJ for an arrow sketch...so expect one next month. lol

One thing I {heart} about Imaginisce paper is that it usually has glitter on one side. And I {heart} glitter! I took a close up pic (that you can click on to enlarge) to show the glitter on the DP and on Tilda's wings. I haven't quite figured out why some of the Tilda's and Edwin's have wings. Some do. Some don't. Don't tell anyone, but if I am cutting my Tilda out...I cut the wings off. GASP! I am sorry, but I just do.

Another thing I {heart} is my Copics. I have to admit that for as long as I resisted them...I am now LOVIN' them! When I go to someone else's blog that uses them I want to know what colors they used...Do you? Please respond to my poll question....the one up there in the top right corner. Boy, I wish I had an arrow to point that out to you. :)

Happy Halloween!

It's only fitting that our Blogger's Challenge for today was a Halloween Theme. Now, y'all know how much I love Halloween cards! I love my camera. I do. So I am devastated that when I went to take a pic of this card my camera wasn't working. And the day before Halloween. So I scanned this card. Unfortunately, glitter never scans well, so just imagine that you can see just the hint of glitter from the Spica pen on the spider, the web and the goo border. I went over every strand of that web...can you imagine it?! Just humor me for today...I am already upset about my camera. Thanks. :)

Any big plans for tonight? My DH, is taking the girls out trick or treating. Declan and I stay home and give out candy. Declan enjoys that. I stopped forcing him into a costume years ago...he hates the costume...he doesn't eat candy...so why torture the kid? But he does like to see the kids that come to the door and sometimes and even gives out the candy. And I enjoy giving a piece of candy to the kids and then 2 for me! ;)
