Hello! Thanks for stopping by today, my friends!
I hope that you all had a lovely weekend and Monday. I took the weekend off from stamping. LOL...Friday night I went to crop with some friends at a LSS, but um, I got nothing done. literally: nothing! I did get out of the house though and spend some time with a couple of good GF's! So that was nice. Sunday we went to Pat's brother's house and didn't get home until late. I am also still frantically finishing up some samples for CHA that should have mailed like yesterday! I think that I will be able to show you them next month some time. After I worked on some of those, I stayed up late (like that's unusual!) last night to make a card that I could share on my blog today. My sister-in-law went in for a surgery yesterday so I thought I would make this card for her.
When I ordered these High Hopes Stamps back in February, I never got a chance to use this sweet bunny holding tulips. (I did make one with a bunny holding the egg). I felt last night that I needed a break from what I was doing for CHA and a break from my usual Tildas/Edwins and Hannas/Rileys. Don't get me wrong...I am not sick of those stamps...but I wanted something different. Anyhooooooo, I know that tulips have been long gone for awhile, but I this image is so cute that I don't care! What do you think? Does this card look too "out of season"?

Speaking of seasons, I would like to share that our unending rain seems to have passed. Thanks for all your good weather thoughts!!!! We still have rain, but not all day, every day like June. It has not gotten really hot though, either. Not that I am complaining about that! I am not a huge fan of the heat. It has been about 77º-82º. The best part is that it has not been humid. ICK...humidity!! The typical summer humidity is not around and I am a HAPPY girl! LOL! It would be nice if some days were a tad bit warmer for the kids to enjoy some water fun...but I am certainly happy! And Pat is happy with the electric bill savings from not running the A/C! LOL!

Well, Declan woke up with some kind of rash this AM...so we are off to the DR.

Thanks again for stopping by today! I always appreciate all your kind comments!

Have a Terrific Tuesday!

You Brighten My Day

Stamps: Ant from High Hopes; Sentiment from CTMH Paper: Basic Grey Offbeat; Striped paper unknown Other: Dew Drops; Crystal Effects; Brads; Nesties; CB embossing folder Card Measures 6x6

Good Morning! Thanks for stopping by today!
I hate to put up a rainy card. It's been such great weather around here! I don't want to jinx it! But I have had this card done since I went away...so it's time to go up. My friend, Peggy got this stamp free in her High Hopes order. It's one of their most recent releases. Too bad it had to come in the order that she place back in February that she just got from them a couple of weeks ago!!! Well, if you have ordered from High Hopes you know how frustrating it can be....so I won't add fuel to the fire. ;) Their images are just so dang CUTE, though!! Peggy also used her "real cloud" maker to demonstrate the the whole cloud thing for me. It does look better than my homemade cloud maker template...because it varies the scallop sizes...but my homemade one is working for me for now. I asked her to use Bordering Blue ink to make them. Bordering Blue is a gray-ish blue and I thought it would be best for rain clouds. I used crystal effects on the rain drop. I don't know if the close up is showing it.
Any plans for the long weekend? We are headed down to our house on the Cape. All the times that I said I was going to go before, I didn't. SO I have not been down there since February...just after we bought it! But I have to go down and survey what needs to still be purchased before the first renters come. I went out last night and bought some appliances: Blender, coffee maker, toaster, iron...etc... Of course, Hubby's heart missed a few beats when he found out the cost. I love my husband, and he is only 44...but sometimes you'd think he was 84!! He has no idea how much things cost these days. And is usually counting out prices from 1980. My poor husband. LOL! Hehehehee....he will be poor when I am done! LOL! That's what he's afraid of. And probably rightfully so! heheheheheheee! Anyhoooooo, the weather is suppose to be great this weekend. Not beach weather...but still a nice weekend! We are bringing the dogs down for the first time. Penny, the Lhasa Apso, doesn't like car rides...hopefully she won't get sick in my car...that plus kids will be a bad thing!! Especially if Guinness, the German Shepherd, starts to get excited. All the while my hubby will be driving down in his truck, in silence...probably enjoying the radio! Hmmmmm....maybe I should volunteer to drive his truck! LOL!

Have a Resplendent Weekend!!

Hello!
Thanks for stopping in today!

So. You'd think that since my favorite color is purple that I would have a great stash of purple paper. Wrong. It is not easy to find purple paper. I mean REAL PURPLE. Not lavender. I have lavender. But this fun cow just seemed too boisterous for lavender! This is one of my new High Hopes stamps and I really wanted to use it. I finally settled on this designer paper that comes pre-glittered...but it really wasn't the right shade of purple. :( ugh. ugh. ugh.
This is another card that I really don't like. :( I really didn't want to even post it. But how can I not have a card for my own card challenge and my own birthday themed one at that!? It didn't help that I didn't start working on this card until 9:30 ish last night (Wednesday night). Well, the good news is that the talented Inspiration Team came through and made some GORGEOUS cards! At least I am wise enough to surround myself with a creative crew! ;) So make sure you check out their blogs and leave them a little comment love! They deserve it!

I hope that you will participate in this weeks 3 Clover Thursday challenge!

Have a Jolly Thursday!

Thanks for stopping by today!
How is your Tuesday going so far?
I usually write my blog posts the evening before and schedule it to post early in the AM. Or sometimes I am still awake at 3am and post it right away. Last night (er...this morning) I decided to just go to bed after I finished my card and I would post in the morning after the kids went to school. Here's the problem: something always go wrong in the morning! LOL! And Maeve usually wants to be the center of my attention in the morning, because no one else is here. She is also 2. This means she is at that age where she is getting into things. Climbing on the counters. Helping herself to yogurt in the fridge (which she thinks is yummy as well as a body paint!) Right now she has 12 return address labels stuck to her legs! The phone is ringing...etc..etc...So it takes me hours just get these things written. :P And early this AM we had the carbon monoxide alarms going off again. Again we had the fire department here. And again there were high levels near the furnace. :( So AGAIN we had the oil/furnace/whoever they are come out to inspect the furnace. This time they can't find anything wrong. I don't know...but I told the firemen that if this happens again I will have to have coffee and pasteries here for them. hahahaha At least this time my house was reasonably clean!! LOL! You can read about the last time here if you please. aaaah...the excitement never ends here in Kerryland. :)

I was happy to have *FINALLY* received my High Hopes stamps on Friday! Yippeeeee! There is images are SO cute! Because of that is why I guess I got over how SLOW their order processesing time is. (yes, I know they make their own stamps and all that....) I just realized that I regard High Hopes in a similar way to Maeve: They are SO CUTE and SWEET that they get away with things way too easily! LOL! But here is a warning: If you have not ordered your Easter/Spring Stamps from High Hopes yet, then don't bother...unless you want them for next Easter. It took 5 weeks for my order to come. And this is apparently "the norm" for them. Maybe they are just experiencing growing pains...but last year my friend ordered from them and it was a long wait too. But again, you can hardly find bunnies this cute anywhere else!

The sky and grass were colored with Prisma pencils and gamsol. Not Copics. I am still "challenged" in doing the backgrounds with my copics. :) This card is also for the High Hopes challenge this week: Buttons. You know what else I just realized: this paper on this card has been in my stash for over a year!! ;)

Have a Delectable Tuesday!

TGIF! Today I am sharing another sweet image from High Hopes. One thing I love about HH stamps is that they are so fun to color! they are big and give me lots of room to practice my shading. :) I included a close up to show you the tuft of hair on her chest and her tail that I added Flock too. Flock is one of those things that I never remember to use...so I am excited when I do remember! LOL!

Well Maeve is still adjusting to the toddler bed. We are still tired. LOL!! Thanks to everyone that has offered suggestions.

Thanks to everyone that stopped yesterday to check out our first 3 Clover Challenge! And especially those that already participated!! Remember that everyone who participates and leaves us a link by Wednesday will be entered into a random drawing for some Blog Candy!

Have a FABTASTIC Friday!!

Good Morning! Before I get started I want to thank everyone for coming by here every now and then to check out my projects. I truly appreciate your always kind comments too!

I hope that you will also come by tomorrow and participate our very first Three Clover Thursday Challenge!

I don't have too much more to say today...I am pooped...I can't think straight. We set up a toddler bed for Maeve in her room. Well she thought it was fun for about 10 minutes. But refuses to sleep in it unless I am laying on the floor next to her...and she doesn't sleep...she just lays there. Fine, maybe she's not ready. Her crib is up...she can sleep there... But apparently she is so put out by the fact that we set this bed up that she refuses to sleep in her crib now too. I can't let her "cry it out" because she also learned how to climb out of her crib. So she just climbs out and comes into my room. Of course we are so tired that if she would sleep in our bed we would let her...but she never has...She'll just stay awake....turning and tossing and touching my face, pointing out my body parts: mommy, eyes! mommy, ears! mommy, tummy! tickle tickle tickle...etc... and at some point sticks her fingers up my nose. How she can go all night and not sleep: I don't know....But I am exhausted. And so is she....we are both VERY cranky this morning. Top it off with school vacation week for Declan and a 1/2 school day for Orla...by 3pm I should be a complete nutcase.

Anyhooooo, this frog stamp is from High Hopes. Isn't he cute? I placed a HH order for a bunch of their new releases and hope they come soon! They have such fun stamps! Plus I am waiting on my very first "stamp club" from Magnolia! oooooh! I can hardly wait!

Now if I can just get Maeve to sleep! Yawn.

Have a Fantabulous day!!!

SBS24 Blog Challenge #1

Stamp: High Hopes
Paper: Lavender Lace; Certainly Celery; DSP by Quick Quotes
Ink: Staz On black; Lavender Lace; Lovely Lilac; Eggplant Envy
Other: rhinestones from Joann's; MM brads; grosgrain ribbon; White Sharpie; Nestabilites; aqua painters; pop dots

Card Measures 5x5

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things....I hope that you sang that like Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music! ;)

My SBS24 sisters and myself have decided to start doing weekly challenges. The first theme is A Few of My Favorite Things. Each participant is suppose to make a project/card that shows off some of their own favorites. Favorite colors...favorite stamp...favorite embellishments...whatever. I decided to start off with my favorite color: Purple (Lavender Lace to be exact). But you know what? I don't actually have a lot of purple patterned paper! I found a few, but they were pretty BUSY. And I had nothing to coordinate. Finally I came across this lavender harlequin paper. The nice thing was it had celery colored stripes running through it and I had celery paper that coordinate and celery is my second favorite color. In fact, this card reminds me of my bedroom. I have celery-ish (slightly darker) painted walls with Lavender accents, like my comforter. When our bedroom is really cleaned up and dusted and the shades are open to let the sun in and there are fresh sheets on the bed...I {heart} my bedroom. The colors and furniture and all is totally me. And I even let my dear husband in there to sleep each night. hahaha! (hey! his favorite color is green!)

Hmmmm....I got off on a tangent there...sorry. Anyhow, I'd say my VERY FAVORITE brand stamps are Whipper Snapper, but I didn't have any WS stamps that I wanted to use with this paper. I started looking through all my images that I have gotten from friends and came across this Elephant from High Hopes. High Hopes is right up there in my top 5 stamps and I thought he would look cute colored purple! I wanted to include as many of my favorite tools and embellies as possible so I needed to use one of my scalloped Nestabilities, bling, brads and ribbon. And of course I couldn't make a card of my faves without Star Dust Stickles! So I painted some in the ears.

Some other favorites that didn't make it onto the card:

  • Bella Rosa by SU! cut into little patches like on this card
  • Just about any Imaginisce paper
  • Riley Moose Stamps
  • More glitter :)
  • a Cuttlebug embossing folder
  • a fall themed card with fall colors
  • Halloween paper

By the way-do you need to get yourself some Nesties? Sign up for a newsletter at Cut@Home and they will send you a monthly email with a 40% off coupon to purchase Nestabilities!

Sketch 28 & In Color Review

Stamps: High Hopes
Paper:
all SU! Red Ridinghood; Pink Pirouette; White; Kiwi Kiss; Bella Rosa DSP

Ink:
Black Staz On and various reinkers for coloring.

Other:
Nestabilities; rub ons; hodgepodge; crystal effects.

This froggy card was my 2nd card I made for this sketch. The first card is below. I hate it. I was combining an image challege that I needed to get done and this sketch and the fact that I bought a bunch of Basic Grey's 6x6 pads and have yet to use them...(oh but don't worry, I just preordered more! tsk...tsk) I love to buy them and keep looking at the paper...and the designs are so pretty...but they never seem to fit what I am making. Point made with the card below!

(side note 1: I seem to have an issue photographing red cards. As well as ones with too much white....oh, and Chocolate chip. So these are all scanned in for truer colors. I have also edited the patchwork turtle card in the previous post to a scanned photo. I have a REALLY nice DSLR camera...unfortunately, I need to learn more about it. Until then, I will be randomly scanning some cards. So I apologize for the lack of dimension.)

I have to admit that I am really diggin' this Bella Rosa Paper from SU!. Often when I buy those packs of paper there are 2-3 designs that I love and the rest go unused. But I think I like just about every sheet of this DSP.

I also have to admit that I am enjoying the new In Colors more than I thought I would. (ok...it could be that it is because it goes with the Bella Rosa paper...but, I don't think that is the only reason...). When I first saw the new In Colors I was less than impressed. They looked "neon-ish" to me. Then upon receiving them they looked extremely similar to colors that SU! already carries. (ie; Tangerine=only orange; Ridinghood=Ruby Red; Pirouette=Pretty in Pink; Pacific Point=Brilliant Blue; Kiwi=Old Olive; Baja=Bashful Blue)

However, after using several of the colors over the past few days, they are different enough for me to be happy. Tangerine is a bit nicer than Only Orange, imo. Only Orange only seemed appropriate for Halloween to me. it is just SO orange. Pink Pirouette is a much prettier pink than PIP. I always felt PIP was a bit orange-y. And, imo, the PIP marker is too bright. Pink Pirouette is a softer babier pink. Kiwi Kiss is a bit brighter and more fun than Old Olive. (Kiwi Kiss also seems to be perfect for frogs and turtles!) Bashful Blue is softer and more baby-ish than Baja Breeze. Baja has a hint of kiwi in it. Riding hood red...hmm...it is very very very close to ruby red. A little "cleaner" looking. Ruby Red always looks a little "dirty-ish" to me. Not dirty in a bad way...just dirty-ish. I have not used Pacific point at all yet. I will make a point to use it soon. But I don't even remember the last time I used Brillant Blue either. Actually, I don't use many of the blues hardly at all. Aside from Bashful. I was in love with all of the previous In Colors, except for the Sky (?) one. I did use Blue Bayou...but I will also use Taken with Teal and they are pretty similar. Actually thinking of Pacific Point, It looks like it might be a cross between Brillant Blue and Taken with Teal.

Well, here is the first card I made with this sketch. I have titled this card "Ugly Elzy". I flipped the sketch upside down for this...because it worked better with the Basic Grey paper that I was forcing myself to use. That's all I have to say about this card. :P

I would just like to THANK MARY JO for not using arrows. LOL! I am "arrow challenged". I don't like arrows. I don't want to like arrows. no more arrows! :)

Speaking of MJ, head on over to her blog and check out her card using this sketch and links to others for inspiration and don't forget: you can play too!

(side note: As I type this it is currently 11:58 pm on Sunday. I have to type this on Word an hopefully copy and paste it onto blogger in the AM because we have been having some severe weather around New England for over a week now and tonight my cable is out. It have been out for about 7 hours now! I am jonesing for my internet!! No internet AND no TV....what am I? a pilgrim?!) Edited to add that I just got my cable and internet back an hour ago! at 10:42 pm. that is almost 32 hours without cable or internet. Now, trust I know there are worse things happening out there...but it shouldn't take 32 hours to fix this! Don't even get me started on the CS rep at CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS and HOW RUDE HE WAS! breathe in....breathe out...breathe in....breathe out....
