Both cards shown today I made to be given from Declan. One to his teacher and one to the paraprofessional (teacher's aide) in the classroom. I truly appreciate the work these ladies do. They are truly loving and wonderful. I always have said that I take good care of my Declan (and put up with him! lol!) because he is my son and I love him. But the teachers that go in and work with children like Declan every day, year after year are angels. It is not easy. Especially in a classroom such as Declan's that is referred to as "intensive special needs". Anyhow, I do try to take advantage of opportunities to let them know that they are appreciated. So I made these cards to send in with little goodies for them.
I am also trying to use paper that is not neccessarily my favorite. Yep, I am talking about that again. I tend to prefer paper with stripes or swirls. Paper with fun colors. Particularly pinks, greens... Not brown and gray. And quite honestly I am not good at making cards that aren't girly girly. Yes, it's true...I wore a dress and knee socks every day until I was 10. I hated gym class. And loved Barbies. And Cabbage Patch Kids. And Strawberry Shortcake.
OOOOOPS! I so easily get sidetracked. It takes me so long to type up these posts because I go off on tangents...realize it and delete....so although a post may not seem long...it took me 45 minutes to type delete....type...delete....repeat. LOL! But for today I am leaving my excessive babble....just to give you a glimpse into the mind of a fruitcake with markers! :)
See there...another tangent! So anyhow, what I am getting to is I don't really like that brown leafy paper. But I am trying to be better at using at least most of the paper in these pads. not just half. I have even been using the pieces that do not have a pattern on them The scallopped rectangle around Billy is some. So are the hearts. I find with these detailed punches that it is really hard to punch through cardstock. But it punches through this paper fine.

Ink: Memento Black; Copics; So Saffron
Other: MS Scalloped heart border punch; Blue flower by Fancy Pants Designs; pink button; embroidery floss. Dazzling Diamonds glitter from SU!

These cards are both just wonderful! I LOVE that you left in your person story! I can never decide what to leave in and what to delete as well so I understand your hesitation. Keep it coming and hugs to those wonderful kiddos of yours! :o)
Brilliant creations for those angels who help children with needs. It's so nice to feel appreciated and I'm sure they will love these.
Adorable. I love them. I may need to pull out my PC stamps.
Love both of the card and I am sure they will be much appreciated. Having 2 teachers in my family I can tell you from listening to them it means a lot when they are remembered.
gorgeous card! hugs nicky
These cards are really cute! Declan is so sweet I am sure the cards will remind his teacher and his aide of him. I am sure they appreciate you saying that they work so hard with all the kids. A lot of times that means the most!
These are really fabulous! The teachers will love them! I have to get me some copics, your coloring is always SO fantastic!!
I am the same way about only using half a pack of paper....I have also been trying to use some of it that I normally would shy away from. I have noticed after I create something with it I often like it much better than I thought I would.

Super cute, as always! Really like the first one!
Your cards are so beautiful. I understand the need to express to the teachers & parapros. I too have a DD w/DS she just turned 18.
She will graduate from HS this year. She is our only.
Blessings,
Marcy
Awwwwww....Billy is so cute!! Love the blue one (I like swirly paper too). They are both amazing though!

Wowzers, these are wonderful! Truly special cards for some *very* special people. The peace of mind is priceless-when you know the ones caring for, and educating, your babies are there because they want to be & love their job. LOL at "fruitcake w/markers" & the blue one is my fave!!
:-)
Kerry, as always they are gorgeous.. you do such a wonderful job.
Kerry, both these cards a Super cute. You did a really good job with Billy, and your paper choices.
The teachers are going to love them, almost as much as they love Declan (how can you not)! Great job my friend!
Beautiful cards as always. I especially like the first one--isn't funny how we are each so unique in our likes and dislikes?
Have a niece with special needs I know that the teachers will greatly appreciate your kindness.
Thanks for sharing

just wonderful!
The cards are so pretty! I love the DP, Kerry! How lucky Declan's teachers - they will have very beautiful Valentine's cards!
Oh, Kerry, I also didn't like gym class and I still love Barbies!
Aww...these are both super sweet and so cute, the ladies will love these! Way to go on using paper you wouldn't normally, I love the mix of papers in both of these.
Super cute, indeed!! :) Love them (and I too remember Cabbage Patch kids and Strawberry Shortcake) -- you made me chuckle
I just LOVE that BG paper!! It was one of my favorite lines & I am waiting for something special to use it with!! LOL!
Your cards continue to be a source of inspiration to me! Thanks!!Wendy A
well for someone who doesn't like to work with brown it came out great. I love how they turned out!
FANTASTIC cards Kerry! And although you may not like that brown, leafy paper, it looks awesome on your card! Without a doubt, the teachers will love them! Beautiful work!
Beautiful cards, Kerry -- Declan's teachers will love them and the sentiment that goes along with them. My daughter has teachers for Homebound Schooling and they are amazing individuals, too. It takes a special kind of person to work with kids (even those without special needs!) and that character quality deserves to be appreciated with special treats like these cards.
Stopped back in to tell you -- I have tagged you for some fun -- details are on my blog. If you have participated in the past, it's okay too. I can't remember where I have seen them all. *shrug* Kel :)
The coloring on these is so awesome! The cards are very cute!
two gorgeous cards.xx
Two gorgeous cards, your colouring is perfect. Thanks for your comment.

Kerry, Even if you don't love the colors, I think the cards look fabulous! Billy is always so adorable. I know Declan's teacher & para will appreciate your kind gesture. Your right, it's not an easy task teaching our special needs kids. Aren't we lucky to have such great people in their lives. Happy Valentine's!
Stunning card.
