Happy Chanukah!

Hello! Welcome to the Hanna Stamps November Blog Hop!! I am showcasing the Chanukah Hanna set. I think this is a fabulous set!! Ok, admittedly, this Irish girl is not Jewish. (shocking, right?! lol!) But I still think this is a great set because almost all of the stamps in this set can be used individually. They are more than just accessories in my opinion.
Here's the problem...I am admittedly pretty ignorant when it comes to the Jewish culture. Yet I still love to choose these different cultural sets when Kristi shows us the new sets and lets us choose!! I can't help myself. They all seem so intriguing to me! So I start Googling! I found out that apples and honey are significant during Rosh HaShanah. I didn't know! I really wanted to know what that Hebrew symbol meant...but I found a couple that were similar, but not exact...and couldn't be sure. And I didn't want to make an insensitive card...so I let it be and hope that someone who reads this can tell me. :)

For the first card I embossed the menorah and the stars of David with silver embossing sing powder. I was just going to leave it uncolored and simple...but it seemed a bit too blah. So I colored the candles. Then the flames. The the base....I left the other arms of menorah white on purpose. Does it look weird? I used my silver Spica glitter pen to color the base. It is very shimmery in real life. The silver stars on the second Chanukah card are also embossed. I hope that you enjoyed these cards!

Hopefully you started this blog hop at Sandra's blog before coming here. Your next stop after my blog is onto Frances' blog...I know she must have some fabby creations to share with you! Then keep on hoppin' to the end where you can win a Hanna Stamps gift certificate!! Have fun! and don't forget to leave all the girls a little comment love for all their hard work!

Have a great Hop!

Blog Hoppin' Fun with Hanna Stamps!

Hello! Hello!! Welcome to the Hanna Stamps Blog Hop!!!
Hopefully you arrived here from Kristi's blog...she is stop #1 in our hop...hop...hop! This is a very special blog hop today because we are celebrating the 2 Hanna-versary of Hanna Stamps!!! How Fun!!!! And you know what that means? Prizes all around!!! Each Hanna Stamps DT member will randomly draw a winner from the comments left on the blog hop posts until tomorrow evening. Then we will announce the winners at the release party Monday night over in the Hanna Forum on SCS. What will you win? A Riley Moose Stamp! But get to the end of the hop and leave a comment and win a $50 gift certificate to Hanna Stamps!! How awesome are those prizes!?!?!?!

Meanwhile I have 2 cards for you...Both use stamps that will be released tomorrow. To the left is Nurse Sophie. I made this card for my friend Kristen who has gone back to school to get her degree in nursing. I am so proud of her!! She is a mom of 2 young kids, who do lots of activities, a wife, works part time, does homework, studies and still makes the dean's list. AS you can image, sometimes she feels like it's just too much. I feel overwhelmed just thinking about all she does! So I thought a "hang in there" seemed appropriate.

Next up I used the Super Hanna set. This is a SUPAH fun set! When I first saw it, I immediately thought about putting an "M" on her chest for Super Mom! And thought it would be a super Mother's FUN Mother's day card. I also used Silke's sketch for this past Friday's Hanna Stamps challenge.

I hope that you enjoyed your stop here! Thanks for coming by.
>>>Nest Stop: Frances' Blog. I know that she will have some fabulous eye candy for you!
Enjoy all the stops! And don't forget to comment!

Have a Stupendous Day!

More Peeks with Hanna Stamps!

Happy Sunday! Did everyone have an enjoyable World Card Making Day? Did you get lots of cards or projects made?
The card here on the left was made for the Hanna Stamps WCMD challenge on SCS. Hanna Stamps provided a sketch to follow. You can view the thread here. You have until 6 pm tonight to share your completed sample to win. Hanna Stamps will be giving 5 lucky players stamps from the new release Hanna Stamps which will be released this Monday night!! The winners will be announced on the official Winner's Thread on Monday!! (scs)

The next card is another card that uses an image from the Super Hanna set. Lots of fun images in this set!! For the background I used Co'redinations Black Magic cardstock. One side of the cardstock is black the other side had a orange-y/yellow color. I used my Swiss Dot cuttlebug folder...then I sanded it. That way we could see the color where the embossed dots were. I wanted to give the effect of stars. I use Platinum Stickles on the shooting star.

Have visited the blogs of the rest of the DT to see more sneak peeks? You should!! Fantastic samples to be seen!!

Happy World Card Making Day!

Hello! This is going to be a super quick post because I lost track of time and this should have been up hours ago!! Sorry!!

All three samples here today are made with the Geisha Hanna Stamp set.

I used paper from the Basic Grey June Bug pack on all 3 samples.
the little red square in the corner of each is suppose to be a "chop". I learned about chops chops when we were in the process of adopting from Vietnam. Chops are similar to a signature or a "hallmark". Each one is unique.
They are similar to rubber stamps but usually made out of wood or stone or etc....You'd usually see them on Asian artwork...similar to if an artist would sign their art. Chops are always/usually (? not really positive) used with red ink. But I didn't randomly choose red. Think of them like we put our hallmarks on the back of the cards we make..."Made by Suzy Stamper".
I did buy some chops when I was in Vietnam...but they are too big for these cards. :) So I just doodled these.

I also had to Google Geisha Kimono's. I mean I know what a kimono is...but I didn't know if certain parts were usually certain colors or if the colors represented something. I didn't want to be culturally insensitive. Now don't get me wrong, I am far from one of those PC police that run around. But I know how I feel when it comes to things in the Irish culture being mangled by people who are too ignorant to care to find out. (Patty/Paddy! UGH!) I even feel that way about the Vietnamese culture. For example there was a TV show recently that premiered and 2 Gay men adopted a baby from Vietnam. (which WAS one of the few countries that would allow single men to adopt from there). However, during the show they had her wrapped in a blanket with Chinese characters printed on it. The Vietnamese do not use characters like this to represent words. They use an alphabet similar to ours...but with accent marks on certain letters...etc...Now I don't pretend to be an authority on any culture, but I try not to look like a fool either!
That said, if anyone familiar with the Japanese Culture is reading this and sees a huge inaccuracy, please let me know. It's too late for me to change it, but I am interested in learning more. Mistakes are always learning opportunities!

Don't forget about all the events going on now over at SCS for world card making day!

Happy World Card Making Day!

Hello!! Thanks for coming by today! Thank you for all your kind wishes and compliments yesterday...you really know how to make girl feel special! :)

I have two cards to share with you today, both using stamps from Hanna Stamps!!
This top card is a Sneak Peek using the Super Hanna stamps! What a fun set!! Has a fun retro feel to it with lots of cute little accessory stamps. When I looked at this first card this morning it reminded me of the old Batman comics and tv show where they put the sound effects in words like "POW! BANG!" ....etc...
The Hanna Stamps Design Team will be showing off sneak peeks all weekend of brand new sets that will be released Monday evening after the release party in the Hanna Stamps forum on SCS. There are always lots of prizes being given away at the release parties and lots of laughs too!!!! So I hope that you can join us. In addition the DT will be having a Blog Hop on Sunday night, celebrating Hanna Stamps 2nd Hanna-versary!!! We will be showcasing the new sets...and of course there will be a prize that will be given away at the release party! A really GREAT prize!!!! think BIG! Not only will there be one big prize but each of us will be giving away something! It all starts at 10 PM (EST) at Kristi's blog.

My next card uses an image from the September released set Fall Time Hanna. I really do LOVE this set! Another set that has a great main image...but lots of fun accessories too! I decided to go with a simpler style card and focus more on the rich autumn colors. The paper is from the Debbie Mumm Harvest and Holiday paper pack. I thought this quilted/homespun look would look great with this sentiment.

Finally, I want to take a minute to let you know that tomorrow is World Cardmaking Day!!! Splitcoast Stampers will be celebrating in a BIG way!! With lots of fun and prizes!! Click on the Blinkie Below for more details.

Both Hanna Stamps and Magnolia-licious will be hosting challenges over there! The Magnolia-licious challenge starts at 3pm. And the Hanna Stamps challenge starts at 11pm. You have until Sunday night to complete your challenges to be entered for prizes! Did I mention the PRIZES that will be given away!?!

Phew! Lots of News today!

Have a Fantastic Friday!

Ribbon Riley is In The House!

Hello!
Just a quick evening post to share this Ribbon Riley stamp that Hanna Stamps just released today!

You can purchase Riley Stamps mounted or unmounted. You can find Ribbon Riley HERE. The sentiment is from the Hanna Breast Cancer Awareness set.

You can find a list of ribbon colors for your cause of choice at this website.
I didn't realize there were so many ribbons. If I actually wore a ribbon for everything that affected myself, hubby, and our kids directly I'd be wearing about 15 - 20 ribbons! I didn't realize what a basket case we were as a unit! LOL! And that doesn't even include causes that I support like "anti-terrorism". heeheeheehee!

So head on over to Hanna Stamps to get your Riley Stamp to show support for your cause! Think of the cute Thank You notes this would make for those of you that collect donations and do walks...etc...

Have a Fantabulous Evening!

Strummin' on the ol' banjo

Stamps: Wheat Riley
Paper: Recollections Autumn paper pack
Other: Mustard colored buttons; Nesties; Gold satin ribbon from Michaels; Copics
Card Measures 5.5" sq

Hello! Happy Thursday! Thanks for coming by today!
How is your week going? It's been a little hectic around here this week. Orla was already sent home from school sick. So she has been home a couple of days. There are some things going on with Declan's education program that have to be worked out. And of course I waited til the last minute to make 12 cards to send out to Inky Antics. Why do I procrastinate so much? I have such good intentions with many things....but then put them off and put them off... Speaking of which, if you have won something in the past month or so from my blog and have not yet received it...it is because it is just being mailed out today. Sorry for my delay. With all my IA cards done and today's card already made, I spent Wednesday night getting packages ready to go the PO. I also started to go through my Stampin' Up stamp sets. I have to start cleaning out. I think I probably have a couple hundred SU! sets that I don't ever use. They are just taking up precious shelf space in my stamp room. I will be saving most of my sentiment sets and a few holiday sets...but I will be liquidating all the others! Every thing must GO! GO! GO! LOL! I also must learn to stop buying things in large quantities and then just hoarding them. Remember when those little white tin lunch boxes were all the craze and they were hard to find? That is because I bought them all...and still have them!!! YIKES!
Anyhooooo, as previously mentioned, I have good intentions....but we'll see how much I actually part with. LOL

This Wheat Riley image was just released this month from Hanna Stamps! Isn't he the cutest?! I just love farm and country stuff! And have I mentioned that I love Fall too?! heeheehee

Thanks to everyone who went over to Elena's blog and showed her some support. I wasn't lying when I said she is a great stamper, was I? I hope that she continues to stamp and share her wonderful creations with all of us.

It's 1 am and I am going to try to get to bed "early" tonight (Wed. Night) ...so I am going to stop blabbing now.

Have a legendary Thursday!!!

Hanna Stamps Blog Hop!

Hello! Welcome to the Hanna Stamps Blog Hop! Thanks for stopping by!
If you came here from Silke's blog then you are probably on the right path. If not, you want to go back to Frances' blog and start there!

I saved my two favorite cards for the hop today. I hope that you like them too.

My first card uses the Goth Hanna stamp set again. I really like this set! It's fun. And I think its perfect for pre-teen and teen girls. I used this paper that I have had for awhile, but couldn't find the right card to use it on. (It's from the Rusty Pickle Pirate Princess collection). Again I sponged the edges while keeping the nestabilities die on. I added Clear Stickles on her tank top and also on the skulls bow...I think glitter makes everything seem girlier. :) heeheehee

Then I have my favorite moose couple on this next card! Along with some of my favorite paper that I bought from the Netherlands EBay site. I paper pieced Sophie's dress. I also find myself adding bows to more cards lately. I am being influenced by one of my favorite stampers, Sharon! :)

********And now for the real fun! I am so tickled to be able to give away the BLOG HOP CANDY!! Who wants to win a $20 gift card from Hanna Stamps!?!?!?!? Leave a comment on this blog post by Tuesday afternoon...I will randomly select a winner and announce the winner at the Release Party on Tuesday night. (9pm Eastern (USA) time at the SCS forum)

Y'all come back now, y'hear?!

Helloooo! Thanks for stopping by again today.
I hope that you are enjoying a great (holiday) weekend! I know that in Massachusetts we are finally getting rewarded for the horrid rainy months we had in June and July with some beautiful late summer weather. Low 80's, sunny, not humid. We so deserve this! :)
We had a beautiful day at the beach today. The kids all had blast in the water and the sand. Then we came home and had a delicious BBQ dinner. Pat's nieces and nephew are fantastic to have around...Orla is having so much fun, as is Declan, and since they are a tad bit older than my kids they are great minders for Maeve too. (They dote on her and she soaks it all up. LOL) But this also lets us relax and enjoy the time with everyone. A silly side note: As I have mentioned my DH, Pat, is from Ireland...of course his brother is too and so is his wife...I always notice that when I am with all of them I start to speak with a brogue! LOL! I also start use more of my Irish "terms". The thing is, when I was younger and my mother (also from Ireland) would do this when she spoke on the phone to her sisters or had her Irish friends around, it drove me nuts! Like where was this accent hiding the rest of the time? heehee...I become more and more like my mother every day. :) sssshhh...I won't admit that to her! hahahaha

Anyhoooooo, I hope that you are enjoying this months Hanna Stamps sneak peeks as much as I am sharing them!!! How cute is this Mr & Mrs Farmer Riley image?! It reminds of a much cuter version of this painting by Grant Wood. I think this would make way cute Thanksgiving cards too. I have to admit that I love "farm themed" stamps and stuff.

Just a reminder that Sunday night at 10pm eastern (USA) time there will be a Hanna Stamps blog hop starting at the Hanna Stamps blog!

Have a Splendid Sunday!

Which Witch Are You?

Greetings from Cape Cod! I hope that your weekend has been off to a great start! I am down at our house on the Cape and beautiful weather is expected, so I am hoping for a lovely Labor day weekend. We invited my husband's brother and his family down for the weekend...so I don't think that I will have much time for typing too much in my blog posts. But I will definitely be posting every day with Hanna Stamps Sneak Peeks!!

Today both of my projects are from the Goth Hanna Set. I REALLY like this set! It is so fun for Halloween cards or even teen cards. With the exception of the sentiment, all the stamps on these projects are from this one set. Girls, coffins, web, all sorts of bugs! LOL!

The card to the left measures 5"x7". The orange paper is from Karen Foster Designs. The black patterned paper has a very light gray spider web design over it, which I do not think is picked up in the photo....it is retired paper. I forget who makes the sentiment stamp. I used my nesties, of course...and my new Martha Stewart spider web border punch. I sponged the edges around Hanna with an eggplant colored ink, then went more towards the center with a light plum colored ink. I picked up the spider web charm at a Stamp/Scrap Store that is right down the street from me here in Hyannis. I think I will pick up a few more this week. You know me and my hoarding issues! LOL!
The bag measures about 3"x5"...I could be wrong...but that's what I am going with. I bought them in a pack at Michaels. I ran it through my cuttle but with the spider web embossing folder. Then I just colored and adhered the image on. I hand wrote the sentiment. I was too lazy to go up to my computer that has the printer. :) But, I think I will make these for Orla's and Declan's classes and will make them on the computer then. hmmmm....lets face it, I have good intentions of makeing things for the kids classes...but always wait til the last minute and end up buy pre-printed cello bags or something! LOL! Who knows...maybe I'll surprise myself and get ahead of the game for once....um, someday!

Don't forget to sheck out all the Hanna Stamps girls blogs for lots of fun peeks!! You can find the DT list on my right sidebar.

>>>>>Sunday night starting at 10pm eastern (US) time the Hanna Stamps design team will be having a blog hop and there will be some great prizes being given away!!! The blog hop winner will be announced at the release party on Tuesday night.

Have a SENSATIONAL Saturday!

Sneak Peek: Fall Time Hanna!!!!

Hello! Happy Friday, my Friends! Thanks for stopping by today!

This is going to be another SUPAH QUICK post, because it's almost 4 AM and I have yet to go to bed.

I mentioned the other day that the sets that Hanna Stamps are releasing this month I especially loved. If you have been reading my blog at all, then you know that I LOVE fall!! And these are all about fall and fun!

This card is made with the Fall Time Hanna set. Isn't she adorable?!
I bet that she is having a blast picking pumpkins!
I made this card for Jeanne's release party challenge: use sewing on our card.
Hanna Stamps is changing the way we do the monthly release party challenges. So Check out this post for more info on this month's challenge. We are pre-posting the release
party challenge so that you can make your card ahead of
time and the winner will be announced at the release party!

The release party will be held in the Hanna Stamps Forum over at SCS on TUESDAY night.
Until then, I'll have sneak peeks for you every day!

Have a Fantastic Weekend!

Wild For Shopping!!!

Hello! Thanks for stopping by today! Tonight's the night! There is a big Hanna Stamps release party going on over at the Hanna forum on SCS...and after that The release of the new stamps at the Hanna Store!! Please join the fun!! I am hoping to make it over to the release party as they are always filled with lots of laughs! And you might even win a prize!!
I also want to point out that Hanna Stamps is having their second round for the Guest Designer contest....you can view all the FABBY projects here. I haven't had a chance to comment on them yet, but I have seen them and there is lots of eye candy!

This is another one of the 5 individual little Hanna's being released tonight. I think this one is probably my favorite! I LOVE to shop! LOL! So of course I colored her in one of my fave color combos: Pink, Brown and Green. I wonder what she has in those bags??? In my case it would be stamping supplies and house decor....but most likely diapers and children's clothing! I am not a "shoe" girl...Give me a pair a flip flops and I am satisfied. :0)

Next up I used this sweet Safari Riley for a sweetheart card. :) I thought a moose in safari gear would be cute saying "wild about you"! heeheehee!

We are having a beautiful weather day here on Cape Cod! So I hve to run to get the kids ready for some swimming.

Hope to see you tonight at the release party!

Have a Magnificent Monday!

Stamps: Safari Riley
Paper: Basic Grey Marrakech;
Ink: memento black; Copics
Other: Chocolate grosgrain; hemp twine; SU! button; CB embossing folder; nestabilities

Hello, my Friends! How are you on this lovely Sunday? I hope that you are enjoying a lovely weekend.

We are having some beautiful weather for out vacation week. There has been some showers a few nights...and about a half hour of rain on Thursday afternoon....but otherwise gorgeous and sunny. A little humid here and there, but not too bad....except on Thursday. My mom's b-day was yesterday, so my sisters came down here for a couple days and we had a lovely day yesterday. Today we are not doing much and I looking forward to that. Pat (and the pups) will be going home tomorrow so we will probably not do as much. We were trying to do the day events while he was here. Now we will spend more time at the beach and playing mini golf and stuff. nothing too exciting.

For today's Hanna Peeks the top card shows you Safari Riley Moose. He is Caaaa-UTE! I love his outfit! LOL!

The second card is another one of the new "little" Hanna's that will be available soon at Hanna Stamps! Did I mention how much I love these?!?! The rest of the Hanna Stamps DT sista's have some FANTABULOUS sneak peeks of other Riley's and Hanna's, (including a couple of FUN large Hanna sets) that I am not showcasing this month so be sure to hop on over to their blogs and check them out!!!

BIG news!

Or should I say LITTLE News?! Hanna Stamps is releasing the Hanna images in smaller versions made out of rubber and mounted on cling foam. These will be sold individually, not in sets like the larger sized Hannas. And I adore them! LOOOVE these! Today I am sharing just 2 of the many images that Kristi will be making available on the HS website when she returns from CHA!
FYI: this rocker Hanna card uses Basic Grey's Lime Rickey paper. I thought these funky patterns were perfect for a rocker! I so thought this would have been a great b-day card for a teen girl. While I was making these cards that use the little Hanna's I was trying to make them in time to send them off for Kristi to use at CHA....at the same, I was also making cards for another company for CHA and I was feeling a little frantic...so in my rushing I forgot to photograph the Copics I used. sorry about that. In fact in my whirlwind I had forgotten to even photo one whole group of cards for the other company. Good Grief!
In addition this second card uses SU!'s retired Bella Rosa Paper. You can also see that I used my favorite glitter "technique" by adding it just around the edges of the Hanna image layer.

I am kinda in a hurry with this post because it's nearly midnight and I have a screaming 2 yr old who doesn't want to go to bed tonight! I am at my wits end! But I did want to say that I always love your comments, but I have really enjoyed reading your comments about getting pics of your own kids or your vacation memories or the wise words from many of the moms out there with grown children. It truly has been enjoyable to read them. If I weren't in such a rush every time I get on the computer I would try and reply back...but it doesn't seem to be happening.

There has also been some questions left in the comments over the past few days that I will try to get to eventually.

Ok....gotta run. Thanks for coming by today!!

Have SUPER Saturday!!

Sneak Peeks for Hanna Stamps!

Oh Yeah! Oh Yeah! It's Sneak Peek time again for Hanna Stamps!! uh-huh. uh-huh. uh-huh-uh-huh-uh-huh! I am so silly! It has been a long hot day for me today. (I am typing this Thursday night.)

No vacation pics today. Too tired to get off my butt and go get the camera to upload the pics. We went to Plimoth Plantation. It was hot and incredibly MUGGY and sticky! My hair expanded by about 5 feet! The pic I have there on the sidebar is with my nice, flat ironed, behaved hair....but in every day life I have very thick, very curly hair. And in the humidity is grows into a giant monster! I think I frightened the pilgrims! LOL! I remember going to Plimoth Plantation when I was in grade school on a fieldtrip and with my parents....but I have been out of grade school for sometime and it doesn't seem as fun as it use to be. :P Especially in the extreme muggies! Declan does not like the heat and he was miserable too...which made it even harder to enjoy. I was happy to be back in the car with the A/C blasting in my face. My mom arrived here today to spend the rest of the time with me. Pat will go home and back to work on Monday. After all, someone has to work to support my lavish lifestyle! LOL! These days he feel like he is working for markers! (Copics!) heeheeheehee! Poor poor Pat. Such a hard worker and I love to spend it all! But with my mom's arrival the kids went haywire! And Maeve is still awake I think! (it's nearly midnight) Why is it that kids never seem to get worn out? Yet I feel like a washed up rag?

But I digress, Back to Hanna Stamps Peeks! First up is School Girl Sophie and (retro) School Boy Riley! They are SO STINKIN' CUTE! I made this pencil holder back in June for Orla's teacher. The paper is imaginisce. The apple was a chipboard shape that I covered with SU! papers. I wish I had better handwriting to put his name on there...but you get what you get! On opposite panels I put Riley and Sophie. I included a close up of each.
I made a card for Orla to give her teacher with Sophie...then a card for Declan's teacher with Riley. I think they came out so cute! I loved these stamps and could hardly wait to show you. What do you think? Aren't these school Moose adorable?!

School Boy Riley is a retro release so he is available now at Hanna Stamps. Sophie will be available Monday night after the release party over at the HS forum on SCS. Be there or be square!!

Have a Fantastic Friday!
