Hello! Welcome to another 3 Clovers Thursday! I appreciate you stopping by today.
It seems weird thinking of Christmas and cold weather in the middle of July. Sometimes it's difficult to switch gears. Especially when a new summer stamp arrived in the mail earlier that day! I had ordered some stamps and a few other things from Magnolia-licious and yesterday it showed up at my house. One of the stamps was this sand castle. So I thought why not do one of those Christmas cards that someone from a warm climate would send. Or maybe that you'd send to someone in a warm climate...or maybe just to show that you were wishin' you were in a warm climate! LOL! So whaddya think? Did I pull this off OK? or does it look like I was just trying to pass off a summer card as a Christmas card? I had picked out all these papers, but nothing seemed right, so I thought the best route for me to go would be a Clean and Simple (CAS) card. Here's the problem: although I have found a new appreciation for making these CAS cards in the past few months, the card making part of my brain is not originally wired to make these. So what should be simple is not. I fool around with twisting the card this way or that way. with what embellies to put or not to put. Where to put them. Then I take it off...and of course I tear the cardstock in the meantime. LOL! So what looks like a 20 minute card actually takes me about 90 minutes. Can you believe it!? I get so annoyed with myself when I do this!

I hope that you will join us this week and participate in our Christmas in July challenge!! We love when you play along!

Tomorrow the Magnolia-licious DT is doing another blog hop...we hope that you will join us!

Speaking of Magnolia-licious, did you know that you can purchase the 12 new shades of Copic markers there? Right now, Diana is offering them for a sale price of $69!! She also carries the copic ink refills there for ony $5.50 each. So if you are a Copic lover be sure to check those out.

By the way, thanks to those of you that inquired about Declan. He had woken up with all these spots down his right arm and on his right hand. As well as a few on his neck and chest. They kind of looked like small mosquito bites....but there were like 50+ of them. And some were clustered. Kind of like Chicken Pox. I was pretty sure that they weren't CP as #1) he had the vaccine when he was a year old. #2) He then had a mild case of the CP when he was 5. Anyhoooo, I took him to the DR. and the DR. said that he has seen several children come in with this rash this summer. Like Declan, mainly on the arms and hands. For the first bout out kids he ran a whole gamut of tests and nothing was out of the ordinary. So, he said to just keep an eye on it. I was not going to push for blood tests as they don't seem to be bothering Declan and it is extremely hard to take blood from Declan. Think of 3-4 adults trying to restain him. Then he is so tense that even when the needle gets in it takes forever to enough blood. He is so rigid that so are his blood vessels. By the time we are done, I am usually exhausted and sweating. Anyhow, I wan't going to do that to likely get no answers. The spots look better already today. Thanks again!!

Have a Merry Thursday!

Card Measures 6" sq

Hello! Thanks for stopping by today, my friends!
I hope that you all had a lovely weekend and Monday. I took the weekend off from stamping. LOL...Friday night I went to crop with some friends at a LSS, but um, I got nothing done. literally: nothing! I did get out of the house though and spend some time with a couple of good GF's! So that was nice. Sunday we went to Pat's brother's house and didn't get home until late. I am also still frantically finishing up some samples for CHA that should have mailed like yesterday! I think that I will be able to show you them next month some time. After I worked on some of those, I stayed up late (like that's unusual!) last night to make a card that I could share on my blog today. My sister-in-law went in for a surgery yesterday so I thought I would make this card for her.
When I ordered these High Hopes Stamps back in February, I never got a chance to use this sweet bunny holding tulips. (I did make one with a bunny holding the egg). I felt last night that I needed a break from what I was doing for CHA and a break from my usual Tildas/Edwins and Hannas/Rileys. Don't get me wrong...I am not sick of those stamps...but I wanted something different. Anyhooooooo, I know that tulips have been long gone for awhile, but I this image is so cute that I don't care! What do you think? Does this card look too "out of season"?

Speaking of seasons, I would like to share that our unending rain seems to have passed. Thanks for all your good weather thoughts!!!! We still have rain, but not all day, every day like June. It has not gotten really hot though, either. Not that I am complaining about that! I am not a huge fan of the heat. It has been about 77º-82º. The best part is that it has not been humid. ICK...humidity!! The typical summer humidity is not around and I am a HAPPY girl! LOL! It would be nice if some days were a tad bit warmer for the kids to enjoy some water fun...but I am certainly happy! And Pat is happy with the electric bill savings from not running the A/C! LOL!

Well, Declan woke up with some kind of rash this AM...so we are off to the DR.

Thanks again for stopping by today! I always appreciate all your kind comments!

Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Hello Friends! Happy Friday! I hope that you all had a lovely week.
I want to thank you all for coming by again today and thanks for all the better weather wishes! The weather around here look sunny and in the 8o's for the next few days! I know there are worse things in life than rain...but rain, rain, and more rain starts to get pretty depressing. In New England we don't have a very long summer as it is, but at this point I think many New Englanders just feel that this will be the year without ANY summer. Our pool is still cloudy...a much better color than the muddy green it was...but cloudy. It has been hard to work on getting it clear with the weather....the good news is that it hasn't been hot enough to use it. And we are saving quite a bit on our air conditioning bill! Although we try to rent out as many weeks as we could at our (new to us) house on the Cape....we did save a week for ourselves. And I hope that we are full into summer weather by then! I can't even remember the last time we took a vacation in the summer months...if ever. Usually we do something in the late winter or spring. I plan it that way on purpose...we need something (warm) to look forward to during our long snowy winter. And if we go someplace sunny it feels like such a treat to have warm weather in the colder months.

Anyhooooooooooooo....I am sorry that I didn't have up my sketch sample before now. I stayed up late on Wednesday night making my card...and by the time I finished I was too pooped to post! Thursday was a busy day...so I figured that I would just post a day late and you would forgive me. :) right? :) This stamp came in my Summer Stamp Club kit from Magnolia in Sweden. If you didn't pre-purchase the kit, you have to wait 'til they are available for sale individually. I am pretty sure that Diana will be putting together an awesome bundle (that is discounted) with the summer stamps at Magnolia-licious. And she includes so many extra goodies too! She also is offering the 12 new Copic shades at a fabby price. I already pre-ordered mine! She expects to have them in her hot little hands next week to start shipping them out! (the copics shown are for card #1)

My second card is for today's Bloggers Challenge: CASE (Copy and Steal Everything) another Bloggers Challenge member. Well that wouldn't be too difficult to do since the girls in that group are so creative!! The hardest part was choosing WHO to CASE. My initial gut was to CASE my BFF, Kristen....because we have very similiar styles and she ROCKS! Or to CASE the super talented Barb...a fellow BC member who I led into the addictive world of Tilda and Edwin. muuuuuhahahahahahhahahhaaaaaa! But I don't know...I kinda felt like CASE'ing those 2 would be cheating because it would be so natural. And I cheated on last week's BC. So I thought I would then CASE someone who doesn't nessecarily have my same style. Patti Chesky is a a very creative lady and I chose to CASE these cards by Patti. Thanks Patti for the wonderful inspiration! You can check out all the BC ladies HERE.

Card #2 Details:
Stamps: Hanna Stamps Perfect Package
Paper: all SU!: Riding Hood Red; Kiwi Kiss; Pink Pirouette; Bella Rosa DP
Ink: Memento Black; Copics
Other: Martha Stewart doily border punch; white brads; nesties
Card Measures 4.25" x 5.5"

Have a Stupendous Friday!

♫ ♪ ♫ Good Morning! Good Morning! It's a happy day today! ♪ ♫ ♪

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope that you are all well. I know that you love to hear my daily weather report... (yeah right! lol). So I just have to say that it is overcast again today with likeliness of more T-storms later. Poured yesterday. rain tomorrow. Things look up for the weekend. Today before Orla went outside to play before it rained, I applied a healthy coat of bug spray. No sunblock needed here this summer! But this is fantastic weather for mosquitos. Some of them are so big I think they may be able to carry Maeve off to their nest...or wherever they live. The news said last night that this weekend we are expecting a whole big new crop to hatch. Yay....we are so looking forward to that! ICK! I have the creepy crawlies just thinking about them! Keep in mind that we live surrounded by lots of trees and wetlands. Just where those buggers love to live too. BLECH! I must look like a Thanksgiving feast to them! Don't you just love all the creepy critter stories that I share with you? LOL! By the way, I never got a chance to get outside and get a pic of the tadpoles before Pat comitted a mass homocide out there with Pool Chemicals. But Orla scooped some dead ones out of the pool (GROSS!) and said that the tails were almost gone. I don't know if I will ever be able to go in that pool again.

This card was made for the Magnolia-licious July Sketch. This month's sketch is by fellow Magnolia-licious DT member, the lovely and talented Jacque. You can see the sketch and read the details here. You can also see the cards of the other DT members and links to many more fabulous cards that used this sketch already!!

All the stamps (except for the sentiment) are available at Magnolia-licious. I linked each stamp directly in the recipe above. The rocking chair is made by Alota...I love the Alota stamps that go perfectly with Magnolia stamps....it's like they are made to go together! Diana carries many of them, including this darling rocking chair. Look for more at Magnolia-licious by searching for "Alota" or looking in the Furniture/backgrounds section.

See you tomorrow for another 3 Clovers Thursday.

Have a Whimsical Wednesday!
