Magnolia-licious September Project

Hello! Happy September! Today things feel a little bit more normal around here...Orla started school yesterday. Declan started school today. Maeve is back to being stuck with only me and standing at my side whining as I type this. It's still quieter than when the other 2 are home, though! LOL! To add to the silence, we found our German Shepherd, Guinness, a new home and he went with his new dad yesterday. :( It broke my heart. And Orla's especially. But we found that the excessive seasonal shedding has been reeking havoc on some of our allergies. I was not aware that Declan, Maeve and myself are apparently allergic. It didn't really become obvious until the late spring when his shedding heavy shedding season started. I kept putting off admitting that it was likely Guinness' fur flying all over the place that was the suspect...because I hated to think that we might have to give him up. Eventually, I admitted it and have been searching for a new Forever Family for him. He is such a good boy and so smart...I was so sad yesterday when he left. Poor Orla cried for over an hour yesterday evening. For now we will stick with just our little Penny. Lesson learned: stick with "hypo-allergenic" dogs in the future. And as much as I hate to admit it, we didn't really have the time to commit to a big dog's energy level. He needed a job, or someone who has more time to commit to "playing" with him. Basically, we were too boring for him! :) Sorry to go on about this...it was a really hard decision and move for us to let him go. I didn't even intend to write about this.

Anyhooooooooooo....Today I am sharing this cool accordion file folder with this sweet Tilda on the front. This is the PERFECT size for filing away pre-stamped images. (which I have placed some in the third pocket from the back) It would also be such a cute way to store coupons or receipts. I had gotten this Tilda from Magnolia-licious....but I don't see that it is currently in stock, but I know that if you really wanted one for yourself you can email Diana and she'd likely order it for you. I don't know what brand paper this is....I've had it forever and forgot to look at the back. But it is very thick and has a smooth, shiny coating over it. So I thought it would be perfect for this.

Each month one of us on the Magnolia-licious DT comes up with a sketch challenge for the Magnolia-licious Yahoo group. This month Diana decided to really spice it upl and give us this project to make. However, she is also giving away a $25 Magnolia-licious gift certificate to a random winner of people who participate!!!! oh yeah! You read that right $25 gift certificate!!! If you are not a member of the Magnolia-licious group, join now...because you can get the instructions for making this file folder in the File's section of the group. I am going to warn you this group sends a lot of emails....but you can be a member and not get emails by selecting "web only" and just read the messages on the Yahoo website. That way you can keep up with the Magnolia-licious specials and special words of the month to get discounts. And keep up with the fun activities like this to win free stuff!!!

This project called for chipboard. I do not buy chipboard. I used the cardboard that came on the back of a notebook. (a legal pad) But as I've suggested before, you can use the cardboard from cereal boxes or other food items that come in boxes. Also if you buy designer paper in packs like from Stampin' Up....they usually have 12x12 cardboard inserts to keep the paper from bending...I always save them for "chipboard". Those 12x12 white pieces also work as great backgrounds for photos of your cards and projects. :)

BTW-Check out Sharon's file folder....she used ribbon to keep hers closed....so pretty! That Sharon is so clever! I wish I had thought of that. Last night I wanted to add ribbon to mine, I felt like it needed ribbon, but couldn't figure where to add it. But after awhile I just had to call it finished and put the project down before I was ripping it apart and starting over! LOL!

Have a Superb Tuesday!

Hi Kerry Love,
I am crying with Orala and the rest of you having to give your doggie away. BUT you have to make hard decisions sometimes for the family. Puppy will be happy with his new owner.......
Love your project! Here I was looking at them all thinking I couldn't make one because I didn't have the stuff. Thanks to you I know I can just use cardboard!!! Thanks for letting us know that! Love your design paper and as usual you have done an outstanding job!!
