Hello! Thanks for coming by today! Happy Hump Day! Jeepers, is this week flying by or what?! I am doing some early spring cleaning at my house this week. fun.
Last Thursday I was awoken at 6:30 am to our carbon monoxide detectors on all three floors of the house screeching. I called the police and they told me to get the kids and leave the house. So we did. All in our PJ's. (DH leaves for work before 5am). When the fire dept. came they detected high levels of carbon monoxide in the house. Highest in the basement near the furnace. The fire fighters went all through house. I have to admit that my housekeeping skills are not what they use to be. :( And the fact that I had been sick made it all the worse. So I was mortified that the Pepperell Fire Dept. had been through my whole house! So this is the reason for the early spring cleaning! LOL! Nothing like the fire dept going through your house to get ya cleaning!

But going back to the Carbon Monoxide: Please get these alarms for your house if you don't have them. We could not see, hear or smell anything. We usually wake up at 7am. I probably would have gotten Declan and Orla off to school as usual. Maeve and I were not feeling well anyhow...so we would not have noticed if we were feeling the effects of the CO. At 11:30 Maeve usually takes a nap. And I would have taken a nap too. We probably would have never woken up. We did not have these alarms in our home until 2 years ago when it became law in our state. It was one of those things that we knew we should get and kept saying we would...but, you know how it goes. BTW-The cause was something in our furnace had gotten clogged.

So that's my PSA for this week. :)

How cute is this Lily as a Fairy from PCS? I could hardly wait to get my hands on it! I have also been itching to get my hands on the paper Bloom and Grow paper from My Mind's Eye...So fun! The spots on the mushrooms were made with the Colorless Copic Blender. After I colored the 'shrooms I went back and dotted them. I think it gives it some texture.

Have a Sprightly Wednesday!

I am so glad you all are okay! CMP is a "silent killer"!! How very scary for you all, but I am so glad you had the alarms and didn't ignore them.

CO detectors are worth every cent! We have had them since we moved in and convinced everyone else to get them too. My cousin's husband is a fire fighter and told us that many lives are saved by these little devices.

On another note, I love your card, it is so bright and springy!

Have a great day

Glad you and your family is safe! You are just like me.....thinking about the dirty house that the firefighters are going thru! I would have felt the same way. Oh well, we can always clean when the kids are gone, right? Great card....as always!!
