Happy Day Everyone! Thanks for coming by today! I was so happy to see the great turnout for participation for last weeks 3 Clovers Thursday Challenge! I was not able to leave comments at everyone's blog, but I did check out most cards and they were AWESOME!!! Now you can check off at least one Christmas card as DONE. One down, 99 more to go. :)
So this week we are onto BLING!! Who doesn't love to add some sparkle to the their cards?! I LOVE to add glitter to my cards. If I don't have a speccific spot that call for glitter, but I feel like the card needs it...I take my glue pen and go around the edges of the layer with the image. (usually white) and then dip my edges into the glitter. If you sponge the edges first, it usually makes it pop a little more. On this card I didn't want to sponge, but I still glittered. I don't know if you can see it in the photo. That's the only problem with sharing cards via the internet, you can't always see the finer details. :P
I also added Stickles to the green part of Tilda's Ice Cream Bar. After I added the yellow flourishes to the card, they seemed to have been missing something. So with BLING on the mind, I added mini rhinestones. Then I added the bigger rhinestones to fill up that empty space and stay close to the sketch I was using. And for good measure, I threw 3 more over there to the bottom left of the main image. Too much bling?!
I used this week's Fridays Sketchers Sketch. I wasn't too keen on this sketch at first...but I was pleased with how it all turned out. That's the best thing about challenges: trying something you wouldn't normally do....and even liking it! :)
