Good Morning! Good Morning! It's a Happy Day Today!

Happy Friday!
I want to start off by thanking everyone who takes the time to stop by and to those that leave comments as well. Yesterday there were some particularly nice comments and an email...and they truly do make my day!! It really means a lot to me that you stop by and let me know that you like what I made. ((((hugs))))

My first project was made for this week's Bloggers Challenge: Alter Something. This is something I made just for ME. I don't usually make things for myself. So I chose a few of my favorite Tilda and one favorite Edwin images and got working. (I linked to all the images in the Magnolia-licious Store in the recipe above). I also went to my favorite paper...at this point I really only have scraps left...But I had enough. Phew! lol. I even paper pieced on each of the images...except Edwin, he's too macho for paper piecing. :) I {heart} the Pink/Brown/Green and cream or white color combo! (Take note of my blog banner) . There's not much else to say about this project. It is not difficult to make...just time consuming coloring all those images. I added the brown cardstock corners to act a "protector" for the Designer Paper edges. Hopefully it will help protect the paper from curling or peeling on the edges. I cut little 1 inch strips of brown card stock, scored them down the center, then ran them through my Cuttlebug in an embossing folder just to dress them up a little. Of course I wanted to start adding lots of embellies, like pearls...but since I want to use this on my stamp desk...I figured that it my get knocked around a bit and that might be impractical. As I color my images I put my markers off to side so that I can take a pic to post here to the blog...but I am always losing a marker under paper or something and then when I need to finish coloring my image...it takes me 5 minutes to find! So I thought I could plop the markers into this. and hopefully spend less time looking for things. :) Well, for markers at least! LOL!

Next Up is a card I made for today's Hanna Stamp's Challenge. (HSC75) Today, Frances has provided us with another great sketch! This card is a little wild for me! But I kept looking at this paper in the Basic Grey Lime Ricky pack and wanted to use it! It's fun!! And this Swimmer Riley looks like he is having a Blast in the Pool! Speaking of Pools...

Because of all the rain we have not had a chance to take the cover off of our pool. It (the Cover) has filled up with so much water that it started to sink in...And some uninvited guests have decided to take up residence and start a family in our pool. My annual nemesis, the Gray Tree Frog . If you click on the link you can listen to what they sound like....but to get the full effect, you should turn up your speakers as loud as you can. Then add to that your husband's voice saying: "Those (*#%&^#@ frogs!!" How such a little frog can be so loud is amazing! We can have all the window closed and still hear them. If I am on the phone, the people on the other end can hear them. This loud specimen has expanded their family by probably thousands (Wiki says) right in my pool!!! With the cover still mostly on the pool we haven't been able to see the amount. The tadpoles are thumb size and we are going to have to fish every one of them out! Then use an obscene amount of chemicals. The water, usually still clear when we take off the cover is a murky brown. ECK! The whole thing is giving me the willies! I can usually handle the frogs hanging out as we swim...jumping out on to my foot as I set up the chairs and umbrella around the pool....but raising their whole family of 2000 is just too much! This weekend my hubby and I will start our tadpole scavenging...ICK!

Ok...gotta run!

Have a Fabtastical Friday!

What a cute little project ... how wonderful you made something for yourself!! And your card, who wouldn't love a swimming moose, great colors, too.

Very nice project! I'm glad that you get to keep it for yourself! The frog story is hilarious! You'll have to come up with some kind of "scarecrow" for frogs to put around your pool. Is that what gnomes are for??!! LOL!

EEEwwwwwww, Kerry. You are freaking me out with the frog blog!! No, I am not going to listen to the sounds. The only frog/toad sound I like to hear is the "thud" when they "accidently" get too close to my lawn mower!! I have warned the neighbors on both sides, "If the frogs/toads that you are so fond of are not sporting colored I.D. tags in their little ears, then they are fair game for my lawnmower"!!
On a much more pleasant note, I love your marker holder. I can relate to the 30-minute search under the pile of papers when looking for a Prismacolor pencil that I just used. I love your details like the embossed corners for wear and tear, and the fact that you share that point with us.
