Happy We
dnesday! How are things with you today? I received a package of stamps from Magnolia-licious on Monday...Yahooooo! The smell of new rubber is one of the loveliest smells, isn't it?! heeheehee My husband would disagree! That poor man. He continues to ask "Don't you have enough stamps?" He may as well be asking if I will continue to breath air for the rest of my life?! really now! Anyhoooooo, in the package were more stamps from the Chasing Butterflies collection. This collection is just TOO CUTE! So springy! I couldn't wait to get my hands on this watercan. I like watercans. My kitchen used to be "themed" with them. Don't misunderstand that for I like to garden. I don't. I really don't like to be too dirty. And I hate the bugs flying around in my face. It's buggy around here. I like to stamp bugs. But real bugs...no thanks. Not to mention that I do not have a green thumb. I am lucky when a plant in my care doesn't croak! LOL!
So I couldn't wait to sit this new Tilda on the watercan. As I was coloring her, I noticed her shoes were on the wrong feet. This made me literally LOL! I am assuming this was done on purpose. As I understand, the artist has young children, In fact Tilda and Edwin are named after her children. When coloring my Tilda's I always color the hair last. I am glad too...because when I saw the shoes like this I knew I had to give her black hair like my little Maeve. Maeve is 2, loves to put on her own shoes....but doesn't always get then on the correct feet. She is always going around the house with them just like this Tilda. The problem is that I am scared to do black hair. Maeve is from Vietnam. She does not have dark brown hair. Her hair doesn't have any highlights. It beautiful, shiny, and jet black. Black hair is tough. You don't want it to be so black that you cover the details from the stamp. You don't want to make it too light so that it is gray. Nor do you want it to have a bluish look. I had to stamp quite a few practice Tilda's and settled on just using my C7 Copic. I then went over it with my C1...not too much. I just wanted to lighten it a bit to be able to see the details of the stamp underneath. It came out so-so. More practice is needed. I have found that trial and error is the best way with the Copics.

Don't forget that tomorrow is 3 Clovers Thursday. I hope that you will join us for our challenge this week. Remember...it's fun to work outside of your comfort zone every once in a while!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Have a Divine Wednesday!
