Did you sing that post title?

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,

Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
Brown paper packages tied up with strings,
These are a few of my favorite things

Lalalalalalalalalalaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

hmmmm....I am not quite Maria Von Trapp! LOL! But Tildas, Spring and Pretty Purple Paper are a few of my favorite things! Add some pearls and some green gingham, and I am spinning around my bedroom twirling around with the curtains! LOL!

And to be pleased with the outcome of this card makes it all the much better. I have really felt that I have been in a funk lately. Nothing was coming out quite right. I wasn't lovin' anything. Some cards have been OK. Some have been "less than OK"! It seemed like there something "not right" about every card. Too many flowers...not enough flowers. Icky colors. Strange layout. Bad coloring. So then I start trying too hard and that was making things worse! But I AM pleased with this one. I just looked back and the last card that I was pleased with was March 19th. That's a month of cards that were :P (**stick out your tongue and blow a razzberry**) . I know we all go through these funks...but it gets frustrating! I hope this is the begining of better card making days. :)

My cyber pal, Danni has a gorgeous fairy card on her blog. With it she also had a sketch that is from a challenge by Susana's Custom Art and Card Design Store. (that's a mouthful!) I really like Danni's card, so I used that sketch. I had to get out my big Creative Memories oval cutter things that I've had for like 8 years to make these big ovals...Nesties were too small for this Tilda! LOL! This left me without any scallops...GASP! How can I have just a plain oval?! Then I thought about the eyelet lace I bought when Jacque (Check out her new blog!) had inspired me with her card. But the eyelet lace was just too big to go around this oval. :( So I used this other smaller lacey stuff I had. It took awhile to get it just right...but I think it works.

I found this paper a week or so ago at my LSS...I was so excited to find pretty paper that a true PURPLE. Not lavender. Not that I don't like lavender, but I have been on a mission to find PURPLE.
You can pre-order these Magnolia Stamps from Magnolia-licious! I got some of these in that stamp club kit....but I can't wait to buy the rest! These are such wonderful springy and fresh stamps!

Guess what? It
's 2 AM again and I really have to go to bed. I have a meeting with Declan's teachers and district people for Declan's IEP. I find these IEP meetings stressful. Although I am happy and satisfied with his teachers and the program...I wonder if I am missing something. Am I being a big enough advocate. Because although his teacher is great...in the end its the $ bottom line $ that dictates so much of what goes onto an IEP. **sigh**

Thanks for sharing your stories about how you and your hunny met or celebrate. It was fun reading!

Have a
Whimsical Wednesday!

Absolutley GORGEOUS card Kerry!! LOVE all your dps and lace and pearls--especially love that adorable Tilda...haven't seen that one yet!

And YES, I DID sing the title, LOL. Always do! Btw... if you hold down the "alt" key while typing "1,4" on the number pad, you'll get a cute little Note like this ♫ -- I ♥ to use those little characters in my titles sometimes ☺

Hi Kerry,

Although I understand we all get into those times that we feel our cards just aren't the best - I have enjoyed all of yours for the past month and only wish mine were that good when I 'couldn't find my muse'.

This one is beautiful with your gorgeous purples, lace and pearls! As is the inside. Great work!!

Kerry as soon as I saw this card I knew it was YOU!! The card is beautiful, I love the lace around the edge. I have some of that paper and I love using it because of the colors in it. Funny, looking at your other cards I don't see a funk? But I can't imagine how you can create at 2AM and still get up to get the kids off to school! I need sleep to function(and create!)
