Happy Hump Day! How is your week going? I have to admit that I am a little discombobulated on what day it is due to it being a school break week here and that Pat also had Monday off. Patriot's Day. Also known as "Marathon Monday" in Boston. Basically I think the city of Boston takes the day off because so many roads are closed due to the running of the Boston Marathon that day. And apparently the so does the company that Pat works for. He works for a commercial construction company and he does not even work in Boston...but somehow scores it off because the main office is in Boston. Anyhoooooo, my days are all messed up now. :P

As mentioned on Monday, I received an order from Magnoli-licious last week with a bunch of new stamps! They aren't newly released stamps. They are "new for me" stamps. I enjoy creating the scenes with Magnolia images....but that calls for some BIG CARDS! This card is almost the size of a full sheet of 8.5x11 card stock folded in half. Add the eyelet lace to this and this is one big, puffy card! LOL! I think this will be HAND DELIVERED to my mom! LOL!
Using the eyelet on a card was inspired by my cyber friend, Jacque. Check out her card here. I wish I found a more petite eyelet....next time.

I {heart} Lilacs. Obviously I love the color of them...but I love the scent of them too. I love when you drive by a row of lilac bushes you can smell them. I don't like the smell of too many flowers. Especially Lilies. Just thinking of lilies makes my stomache turn. My dad died when I was 16 and there were so many flowers at the funeral... I just associate that smell now with that memory. uuugh. But Lilacs, have a sweeter scent. And, in my mind, represent SPRING. Late spring, when we are sure to have warmer weather. When most everything is blooming and growing. A new begining. happy. I was so wishing that I had some lavender colored Flower Soft. It would have been perfect for these Lilacs!

I love this Tilda Holding Lilacs! I love the little stone wall she is sitting on. And when I saw this tree that reminded me of a Cherry Blossom tree I NEEDED it. aaaaaahhh...spring! This Tilda reminds me of a picture of Maeve from last May. ooooh....she has grown so much since then!

I stamped the Tilda and colored her, then cut her out. Then I stamped the stone wall, colored it, then masked the wall to stamp the tree. The flower is stuck onto the ribbon with a glue dot. I use the ATG gun, and Scotch adhesive, it is pretty sticky stuff, so the eyelet lace is stuck on to the back with that. I did use glue dots on the corners where there was some "puckering" to maneuver around the corners.

If you have any other more specific questions, you can use that into that box on my sidebar and I will answer them. :)

I hope that your Wednesday is Sacchariferous!!!

Beautiful! The eyelet lace really sets this off. - Lilacs are beautiful but they make me sneeze and sneeze. My mom has a French Lilac in her yard and when it's in bloom I hate going outside. But I do think they are gorgeous flowers. I just prefer them on cards like yours.

I always get butterflies when I see your picture of little Maeve. I babysit for a gal that adopted two little girls from China and it reminds me of them!!!

Your Maeve is soooo cute.

Christine
