It's a Two-fer Friday!

Stamps: Knitting Sophie G Paper: CTMH Ink: Memento Black and Copics Other: Prima Flowers; Hero Arts pearls; CTMH ric rac; SU! mellow moss buttons; Nestabilities; Unknown ribbon Card Measures 5.5"sq

Happy Friday!! I hope that your Friday is a lovely one! We are expecting our first truly warm weekend here. Starting with temps in the 70's today and going up to the mid 80's over the weekend. It's probably been about 6 months since we saw these type of temperatures. I am looking forward to it! Once it gets any warmer though...and the humidity kicks in...not so much a fan of that. But I will enjoy this while I have it!

So last night I went down to my stamp room with nothing in particular in mind to make. I opened up my laptop and checked out the Bloggers Challenge Theme for today: "Alter it!"........hmmmmm....looking around my craft room I found lots (and lots!) of things I could alter. As I have mentioned, I like to buy things in large quantities. But I wasn't in the mood for altering something, really. So I checked out the Hanna Stamps Friday challenge: a 3-D object. LOL! Well then, I may as well alter something! The thing is, I had nothing in particular in mind for no one in particular. So I looked at my Hanna's and I looked at my Rileys/Sophies and another stamp that I had not ever inked up called out my name. This Knitting Sophie G stamp. I bought it because my mom loves to knit. And she does beautiful work. She always tried to teach my sisters and I...but we never showed that much interest. However, Orla has. So her and Orla happily knit away. They are so cute!
Anyhow, next Friday, eight of us gals are going back up to Vermont for another Stamping/Scrapping weekend. Next Friday is also the Daddy-Daughter dance put on by the girl scouts. I hate that I am going to miss getting Orla all dolled up! But my mom is coming up and taking Orla to the hairdressers and then sticking around to watch Declan and Maeve while Pat and Orla are at the dance. So, I thought I'd get my mom a gift card and some candy or something and put it in this little canister to say thank you. Or maybe I will save it and make give it to her on Mothers Day from Orla. So for now, I did not put any tag or sentiment on the card or can. I got this can years ago at the Target $1 spot. They are empty, white and say "dog treats" or "good treats"...or something about treats on the front.
Next I went to my paper stash. I cam across this CTMH paper pack that I ordered several years back....I haven't used it because I ordered the wrong thing and ordered these pre-layed out 12x12 scrapbook pages instead of the kit with just the paper. So they have these blocks where you are suppose to stick your pics. Well....I can't make a card with those!! Or can I? hmmmm....So I started cutting one up and used it on my can. The brown and the pink on the can are not layered by me, it was like that on the paper. I just cut below those funky blocks where the pics are suppose to go. Then the same sheet of paper had a narrow strip of that striped paper....perfect for around the rim of my can lid! As I was putting it together, I noticed the colors we the same as my blog banner sans the green. So I added a little green by mounting the pic on SU!'s Mellow Moss cardstock and coloring some green into the pic. I was all done with the can in about an hour. You have to know that the average card takes me 2-3 hours! So this was record time here. LOL! Well, I may as well make a card to go along with it. And since I already had one image colored that made it super fast to color up another...as I didn't have to decide anything...just copy the first one. Before I started cutting up more paper I thought about you guys and that you want more info from me. So I took a pic of some of the papers uncut. There are 3 sheets of paper in that pic. The big cream colored block is where you'd attach a 5x7 picture if you were using it to make a SB page. For me, it became waste...that's unfortunate....but it was more wasteful if I never used this paper at all...especially since I love the colors and patterns.

If you'd like to participate in today's Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge (HSC66) you can check it out in the Hanna Stamps forum over at Splitcoast. I don't have a direct link to the challenge at the time I am typing this. (It's not yet posted-of course I am typing this at 2:45 AM) We'd love for you to join in! (you don't have to use Hanna Stamps brand.)

You can also check out the other creations by the Blogger's Challenge members by clicking HERE and Blog Hopping. Don't forget to leave them a little {love}!

Well, I am off to bed so that I can be up with the kiddos in a few hours and enjoy this nice weather that is headed our way.

Ooooooh these are fabulous. What great paper and colors and .... I used to knit and crochet and cross-stitch. Funny how they bother my arthritis, but making cards, cutting out and coloring doesn't bother my hands at all!

I love everything you do anyway and Orla will have a fabulous time at the dance! Take pictures & share!
