Today, the kids are finally back to school! lalalalalaaaaaaaa....It's the Most Wonderful Time of The Year!...lalallalalalaaaaaa! Due to that ice storm and the holidays they have not been to school since December 11th. DECEMBER 11th! Don't get me wrong, I love my kids. But it is not our normal routine for them to be home all this time. They get bored. and I get crazy. Orla, God bless her, talks A LOT. And is always asking questions. Lot's of questions. I suppose we could go out...but then that infuriates Declan. For example, we went to a birthday party at the mall last week. (Build A Bear) Declan hates the mall. If he is near any of those neatly folded piles of clothes he grabs them and throws them at one of his sisters in protest. Then he takes off and throws his shoes and socks in protest. Then anything else I may have hanging off the jogging stroller (which he occupies). Like all the coats, hats, bears, hand bags, sodas.... Then he screams and slaps his forehead like he can't believe he has to tolerate this excursion to the mall. A high pitched screech. Whenever possible he tries to grab his sisters and slap them too. It's all so delightful. So when the kids are out of school we spend much of the time at home. Of course, he is getting so bored that now he has been doing things at home just to be a booger. Like opening the clothes dryer and taking all the clean clothes out and throwing them around...not so bad until something lands in the dog food/water...or the toilet. (my washer/dryer is in the bathroom). Or he has taken to sneaking upstairs while Maeve is napping and tuning on the light and jumping in the crib with her. She screams. He giggles. Those two get along pretty well, so I am not sure if he misses her and wants her up...or what. But it makes for a very unhappy Maeve and Mommy. Declan loves to swim. Loves the pool. However it VERY COLD here! But Declan has been digging out his bathing suit and insisting on wearing that all day. He even goes to get a beach towel! A few days ago he went and dug out my flip flops, removed the slippers from my feet and put the flip flops on me! He's pretty persistant! I could list several more of Declan's little things....but I will leave it at that. I just didn't want you to think that I HATE my kids being home....it is just very challenging here when they are. I am sure they will be home again in the near future, as more bad weather is predicted. Yay!
