I am Thankful that my card making skills have evolved since this very first card that I made! LOL!We had not lived in this neighborhood for even a year when our neighbor sent us an invitation to a neighborhood Christmas party that they had every year. It was hand stamped. I thought it was the CUTEST thing! That was the Christmas of 2002. After Christmas, I called her and basically said: take me to your leader! LOL!
She took me to what the SU! demo called Stamp Camp. It was a once a month "workshop" where the demo brought some new stamps and basically everyone worked on their own projects. She really wasn't a good demo at all. But I was really excited and basically she threw some scrap cardstock at me and said go to it. HUH?! I have never picked up a stamp in my life! My neighbor was using a Valentine's set so I did too. This is what I made.
Stunning isn't it? lol! Notice how hard I pressed on some where the middle of the heart has an ink dot in it. Quality workmanship right there, folks! LMBO!
Do you remember when you caught the stamping bug?
Do you remember learning something new and every card had that new element on it? Like when I learned about eyelets. Eyelets were on everything and I NEEDED them in all shapes and colors! Now when I use eyelets it's just because I feel that I should use up that huge collection I NEEDED. LOL! I still go through these phases. And now that I scan or photograph every card and save it, I can see my phases. Much of the time they are color combo stages. One that really stands out in my mind is the Pretty in Pink and Barely Banana phase. I really went to town with those colors! I must have about 20-25 cards with PIP and BB as the main colors! Right now most of my cards use my Nesties and have a scalloped border. Some day I will look back and laugh at all my scalloped edges, I am sure!
What I am truly thankful for is my the wonderful people I have in my life. My DH and kids. My mom and sisters. My friends. I am thankful for so many things, I could be here forever listing them.
I am also thankful for the people that come here everyday to see what I am up to. To leave comments that are so encouraging. I read on someone blog recently that comments to a blogger are like laughs to a comedian. And that is true. They are what keep us going. Blogging makes one vulnerable. We don't really have any other way to gage if we should even bother posting or not. I really want to encourage everyone that views cards on SCS or blog hops to take a few moments to comment. Let that person know that you appreciate their time and work. It can really make someone's day. So thanks to all of you that take time out of your day to come here. And especially to those that leave the comments that mean so much. It is appreciated.

LOL the comedians was me LOL and I am dying on stage! LOL j/kidding. Can yopu believe this is my first year really doing alot of cards. before it was just here and there. Who knew it would become my main thing?

Love your cards, they do not look like the work of a beginner - I still struggle with cards, definitely not my forte!! Love the hearts, and did not think the dots in the middle were an accident!
